Ahmedabad, November 7, 2025
After the Bihar Assembly elections, when urban governments are to be formed in Gujarat, the Modi government at the Centre is preparing to make a splash.

In 2025-26, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will receive grants from the Central Government under the 15th Finance Commission and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and from the State Government for infrastructure, urban road projects, etc.

Benefits and incentives will be provided for the implementation of the ₹8,600 crore project. This amount has been promised once a year, but whether or not it will be provided remains to be determined. ₹4,966 crore will be provided as grants from the Central Government and ₹3,600 crore from the State Government.

Works worth ₹2,528 crore have been finalized in the first three months. ₹324 crore will be spent in the second three months, ₹345 crore in the third, and ₹530 crore in the fourth.

Since elections are underway, the BJP will benefit from this.

Important projects like BRTS, stormwater lines, pollution control, and transportation were completed with funds provided by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
