Gujarat Governments state level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in chair here today reiterated its commitment for quick action in booking accused in serious offences like murder, rape, grievous injury to Dalits and in filing charge sheet against the accused.
\nDeputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Leader of the Opposition Pareshbhai Dhanani, Ministers Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Ganpatbhai Vasava, Ishwarbhai Parmar, Pradeepsinh Jadeja also attended the meeting.
\nMr. Rupani called for reviewing such cases and ensuring fast justice to the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, oppressed, exploited and Dalits as a campaign.
\nHe asked District Collectors and Superintendents of Police, Peoples\u00a0 Representatives and local leaders to restore equanimity and harmony in 32 villages in 20 localities where Dalit families live under prolonged police protection.
\nMr Rupani said that the government has revised the quantum of assistance, as Rs.16 crore were disbursed to scheduled castes and Rs.2.84 crore to scheduled tribes. While the government has set up 16 exclusive special courts for such cases, there are 17 specials courts too.<\/p>\n
He said the administration should not only check atrocity but also ensure last mans faith in government and justice.
