The awardees are:
\n1. Subhash Apte for serving mentally challenged children,
\n2. Rasikbhai Raval for setting up cremation grounds,
\n3. Sudhir Modi for tending to sick and heartbroken,
\n4. Ashaben Patel for legal service to the needy,
\n5. Nilesh Panchal for serving mentally challenged children,
\n6. Lalji Prajapati for serving the visually challenged,
\n7. Keshavbhai Gor for spreading the ideas of Swami Vivekanand,
\n8. Devendra Lakshmishankar Trivedi for serving the footpath dwellers,
\n9. Bhadraben Savai for serving the people hit by drought and disasters,<\/p>\n
10. Ramilaben Gandhi for providing free hostel facility for poor
\nchildren, and
\n11. Priyavadan Shah for counselling people to donate eyes and body.<\/p>\n
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani felicitated 11 \u2018sevavratis\u2019 at the 7 th Dharti Ratna Awards, instituted by Ashirvad Foundation, at a function here today.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, he said that service before self, sharing the sorrow
\nof others in ingrained in Indian culture and tradition. He regretted the feeling is
\non the wane and in such a situation the contribution of the sevavratis, setting
\nan example before the society, assumes special significance. Money is no
\ncriteria for the right person for the right job.
\nIn the society mad after money and status, those who serve the needy,
\noppressed deserve felicitation. The concept of \u2018daridra narayan\u2019 defines motto
\nof service as divine.
\nDr. Kumarpal Desai spoke on the activities of the Ashirvad Foundation.
\nFoundation\u2019s Chairman R.S. Patel said that Education Trust is working in the
\nfield for the last 42 years, in collaboration with the state government. Two
\nrecipients of the awards reciprocated with their feelings.
\nProminent among those present at the function included educationist Vidyut
\nJoshi, Justice (Retd) J.C. Upadhyay, Kiranbhai C. Patel, Kanubhai Patel, P.S.
