{"id":29006,"date":"2019-12-18T10:15:29","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T04:45:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allgujaratnews.in\/?p=29006"},"modified":"2019-12-18T10:15:29","modified_gmt":"2019-12-18T04:45:29","slug":"gujarat-government-not-raise-electricity-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allgujaratnews.in\/en\/gujarat-government-not-raise-electricity-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Gujarat Government not\u00a0raise electricity charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Government has decided against approaching the Gujarat Vij Niyaman Aayog to raise electricity charges in the interest of the consumers to ensure they are not burdened with the rising cost of electricity generation and distribution.<br \/>\nEnergy Minister Saurabh Patel said that Gujarat expects Rs.51,507-crore as estimated<br \/>\nrevenue for 87,824-million units of electricity as per the current approved electricity tariff<br \/>\nfrom the consumers during 2020-21, as against estimated income of Rs.51,507-crore from<br \/>\nthe consumers, leaving a deficit of Rs.882-crore. As per flat rate, it should put an additional<br \/>\nburden of Rs.0.10 per unit and after exempting the agricultural related consumers it comes<br \/>\nto Rs.0.13 per unit. Usually the difference is charged from the consumers.<br \/>\nMr. Patel said the State Government has decided to minimize the revenue loss by<br \/>\nimproving efficiency in power generation and distribution.<br \/>\nHe said that Gujarat is the first state in India which has not asked for raising electricity tariff from the consumers for the last several years, even after ever increasing consumption of subsidized electricity every year.<br \/>\nIn another important decision, Mr. Patel said the state government has decided to charge<br \/>\nelectricity tariff at uniform rate from 2-lakh agricultural related consumers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Government has decided against approaching the Gujarat Vij Niyaman Aayog to raise electricity charges in the interest of the consumers to ensure they are not burdened with the rising cost of electricity generation and distribution.
