Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reached out to Gujarati-Indian families in the USA at a function \u2018Chaalo India\u2019 held under the aegis of Association of Indian Americans in North America (AIANA) through videoconferencing from Gandhinagar at 5.00 am (IST) today.
\nIn a powerful presentation, he enumerated how \u2018Gujarat\u2019s development leads to India\u2019s development\u2019, opening up a new chapter on \u2018politics of development\u2019 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, setting new benchmarks in different parameters, ensuring
\nGujarat and India could face the world on equal footing.
\nMr. Rupani said how Gujarat has become a global destination for investment as a sequel to
\neight editions of the State Government\u2019s biennial flagship event \u2018Gujarat Vibrant Summit\u2019
\nheld so far, laying world-class facilities, widespread application of technology, ease of doing
\nbusiness, providing education, health, water, housing to the \u2018last man in the last mile\u2019.
\nHe praised the contribution of Gujaratis-Indians settled abroad in promoting India\u2019s
\nuniqueness in unity in diversity, philanthropy and humanity. Gujarat has become a
\nmanufacturing hub with zero defects, zero man-days loss, zero power-cuts, zero dropout
\nrates in schools and adopting zero tolerance towards terrorism, corruption and
\ncommunalism. He also talked about six new passport service centres being opened in the
\nstate, making the process easy online, and about the \u2018Pocket Cop\u2019 Project uploading data
\nof 69-lakh criminals in the policemen\u2019s mobile handsets, to maintain law-and-order, peace
\nand security in the state.
\nMr. Rupani said that Gujarat has produced two illustrious sons of India \u2013 Mahatma Gandhi
\nand Sardar Patel \u2013 the state paying its befitting tributes by celebrating Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s
\nyear-long 150 th birth anniversary from October 2, 2018 and dedicating the Statue of Unity
\nnear the SSP dam on the Narmada on October 31, 2018. He invited the Indians settled
