Gujarat\u00a0 approves Rs 73.27 cr lift irrigation-cum-pipeline project for 12 villages in tribal areas in Mahisagar district<\/p>\n
Gandhinagar, Friday: Gujarat government has in-principle approved a Rs.73.27-crore lift irrigation-cum-pipeline project to fill up 26 ponds and to irrigate 1,600 hectare land in 12 predominantly tribal villages in northern Kadana taluka in Mahisagar district.<\/p>\n
The project entails the government\u2019s determination and engineering skill to carry water from upstream of Kadana dam with the help of three pumping station to these hilly villages 38.62-km away through ravines where it is difficult to build check dams while rainwater flows down the hilly slopes.<\/p>\n
The project with the tribal people\u2019s long standing demand will help them grow rabi crop and recharge groundwater level.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
