In Gujarat, 24 percent or 1.65 crore people are using poisonous arsenic water. IIT Kharagpur has conducted a study based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Groundwater enters the body through irrigated fields, cooked vegetables, cooking, drinking water.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenic has been found in 24% of Gujarat&#8217;s groundwater. Arsenic is highly toxic in inorganic form, causing cancer, skin and other diseases. When it reaches the body by drinking water and eating for a long time. Organic exposure in the body to inorganic form can cause skin cancer and many skin diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Punjab, Bihar 92 per cent, West Bengal 69 per cent, Assam 48 per cent, Haryana 43 per cent, Uttar Pradesh 28 per cent, Gujarat 24 per cent, Madhya Pradesh 9 per cent, Karnataka 8 per cent, Odisha 4 per cent and Maharashtra State 1 per cent arsenic in ground water. Percent<\/p>\n<p>The recently released 2017 report of the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) identifies areas of Gujarat that are under threat.<\/p>\n<p>People of Gujarat use 230 to 250 cubic meters of groundwater every year.<\/p>\n<p>Water was tested at 247 taluka locations in Gujarat. In which groundwater of 56 talukas or places indicates danger. 191 places are considered safe.<\/p>\n<p>Critical- 4 Taluka &#8211; Patan, Mehsana &#8211; Visnagar, Kutch &#8211; Bhuj, Anjar,<\/p>\n<p>Semi-critical &#8211; 13 Taluka &#8211; Ahmedabad &#8211; Cities and Daskroi, Detroj, Rampura, Dholka, Viramgam, Kutch &#8211; Khatrana, Porbandar, Sabarkantha &#8211; Wadali, Talod, Prantij, Idar, Vadodara<\/p>\n<p>Khara &#8211; 13 &#8211; Aravali &#8211; Dariyapur, Surendranagar &#8211; Lakhtar, Patan &#8211; Santalpur, Sankeshwar, Sami, Radhanpur, Harij, Morbi &#8211; Malia, Kutch &#8211; Gandhidham, Banaskatha &#8211; Vav, Sugam, Bhabhar, Ahmedabad &#8211; Dholera.<\/p>\n<p>Over-exploited &#8211; 26 Taluka &#8211; Banaskantha &#8211; Tharad, Vadgam, Disa, Kankaraj, Dhanera, Lakhani, Deodhar, Gandhinagar &#8211; Gandhinagar, Dahgam, Kalol, Mansa, Kutch &#8211; Mandvi, Bhachav, Mehsana (entire Mehsana district) &#8211; Jotana, Visnagar.
