Farmers say the loss is due to less procurement of wheat from Gujarat.
\nIn 2020-21, 12.74 lakh hectares were planted and 40.47 lakh tonnes of wheat was to be produced by the Department of Agriculture. In contrast, farmers have planted 1.08 lakh hectares and planting in 13.66 lakh hectares. Farmers planted 9 percent more saplings than expected.
\nWheat production was expected to be good with good water after a good monsoon. Production was expected to be 48 lakh tonnes in 13.66 lakh hectares, which is 3500 kilograms. Produced in the winter of about 2021.<\/p>\n
The farmers also planted chickpeas, coriander, cumin and rye.
\nGovernment robbery in prices
\nPurchased by Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation at 235 godown centers at a support price of Rs. 1975 per quintal. Purchased at 1940 prices in the previous agricultural year 2019-20. There is no significant increase in prices. The government has set down prices. But the farmers say that if their profit and rent of land is taken into consideration, then they can take only Rs 2400 instead of Rs 100 per 100 kg in 1975. So the government should buy at a price of Rs 2400-2500.
\nWith the increase in fertilizer prices, the support price of 100 kg of wheat in 2022 will have to be declared at Rs 3,100. Only then will the farmers be able to afford it. Otherwise, farming will be at a disadvantage.
