\nAfter the third wave of Corona, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers has released the details of what has changed in the production of farmers in the country in the year 2021-22.<\/p>\n

It is a matter of concern that there is going to be a huge shortage of 2.5 million tonnes of food grains in Gujarat. Chana, rice, indicate an increase in oil production. In which the farmers are facing the brunt of the prices.<\/p>\n

Gujarat Agriculture Department has released the details of change in production in 2021-22 as compared to last year 2020-21. This indicates a sharp decline in the production of cereals, pulses and cotton in Gujarat.<\/p>\n

\nRice production in Gujarat will increase by 1.10 lakh tonnes. The country is also progressing.
\nOilseeds will increase by 2.40 lakh tonnes. The country will also grow.

The second advance estimate for the year 2021-22 has been released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat –<\/p>\n

Rice
\nThe country will produce 127.93 million tonnes of rice, including the Kharif and Sun seasons. The production in the year 2020-21 was 124.37 million tonnes.<\/p>\n

The Agriculture Department in Gujarat estimates that 20.39 lakh tonnes of rice will be produced in 8.17 lakh hectares in 2021-22.
\nGujarat had 21.46 lakh tonnes in 9 lakh hectares in 2020-21<\/p>\n

Wheat
\nWheat is cultivated in fewer states than rice in the country. Wheat production is estimated to be 111.32 million tonnes in 2021-22, up by 1.82 million tonnes (18.02 lakh tonnes) from 109.5 million tonnes in 2020-21.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture department expects to produce 39.19 lakh tonnes of wheat in 12.17 lakh hectares in 2021-22.
\nGujarat had 43.79 lakh tonnes in 2020-21 in 13.66 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to the second preliminary estimate of oilseeds in the country for 2021-22, the production of nine oilseeds including mustard, groundnut, sunflower, soybean, niger seed, castor, sesame, linseed in the country is estimated to be 37.15 million tonnes. Of which 11.46 million tonnes alone is mustard-rapeseed. In the year 2021, mustard sold at Rs 3200-3500 per quintal has reached Rs 7500-8000 per quintal after some time.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture Department is expected to produce 64.70 lakh tonnes of oilseeds in 32.22 lakh hectares in 2021-22.
\nThe agriculture department is expected to produce 41.66 lakh tonnes of groundnut, 1.3 lakh tonnes of castor, 32,000 tonnes of sesame, 6.20 lakh tonnes of mustard, 3.50 lakh tonnes of soybean and 1.30 lakh tonnes of other oilseeds.
\nIn 2020-21, Gujarat produced 62.30 lakh tonnes of oilseeds in 34.41 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

Cereal
\nAccording to the second preliminary estimate for 2021-22, the country’s grain production is estimated to be 49.86 million tonnes. The production in the year 2020-21 was 51.32 million tonnes, while the production in 2019-20 was 47.75 million tonnes.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – The total foodgrains in 26.43 lakh hectare is expected to be 70.32 lakh tonnes in 2021-22.
\nGujarat had 83.25 lakh tonnes of food grains in 31.82 lakh hectares in 2020-21.<\/p>\n

\nThe production of coarse cereals, bajra, jowar, madua, sanwa, kodo, kutki, kangnijuar and ragi has decreased in the country as compared to the target of the government and the year 2020-21. The year 2023 will be observed as the Year of Coarse Cereals.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture Department is expected to produce 1 million tonnes of coarse cereals in 2021-22.
\nGujarat produced 17 lakh tonnes of coarse cereals in 2020-21.<\/p>\n

Maize
\nThe country is expected to produce 32.42 million tonnes of maize in 2021-22. The production in the year 2020-21 was 31.65 million tonnes. Maize production has increased one and a half times in the last 10 years. The production in 2011-12 was 21.76 million tonnes.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture Department expects to produce 7.26 lakh tonnes of maize in 2021-22 in 3.85 lakh hectares.
\nGujarat produced 6.67 lakh tonnes of maize in 2020-21 in 3.89 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

\nThe country’s jowar production is estimated at 4.31 million tonnes, up from 4.81 million tonnes in 2020-21, as against 5.98 million tonnes in 2011-12 10 years ago.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat \u2013 Agriculture Department expects to produce 51 thousand tonnes of jowar in 2021-22 in 37 thousand hectares.

In Gujarat \u2013 Agriculture Department expects to produce 30 lakh tonnes of pulses in 17 lakh hectares in 2021-22.
\nGujarat had 19.70 lakh tonnes in 2020-21 in 14 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

Gram
\nThe country includes Arhar, Urad, Moong, Dal and other regional pulses. Chana is the largest producer of pulses in the country. All pulses produce equal to gram.
\nRecord production of chana is expected this year. Production in the year 2021-22 is estimated to be 13.12 million tonnes.<\/p>\n

Production stood at 11.91 million tonnes in 2020-21 and 11.08 million tonnes in 2019-20.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture Department expects to produce 2.5 million tonnes of gram in 2021-22 in 11.32 lakh hectares.
\nGujarat had 14.38 lakh tonnes in 2020-21 in 8.16 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

\nThe production of Arhar-Tuvar in the country is estimated to be 4.00 million tonnes in the year 2021-22, as compared to 4.32 million tonnes in 2020-21.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat – Agriculture department expects to produce 2.77 lakh tonnes of gram in 2021-22 in 2.42 lakh hectares.

In Gujarat – In 2021-22, the Agriculture Department expects to produce 4.56 lakh tonnes of mugs in 99 thousand hectares.
\nIn 2020-21, Gujarat had 1.10 lakh tonnes in 1.55 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

\nThe country is estimated to produce 1.58 million tonnes of lentils.<\/p>\n

Sugarcane
\nThe country’s sugarcane production is estimated to be 414.04 million tonnes during the year 2021-22, which is 40.59 million tonnes higher than the average production of 373.46 million tonnes.<\/p>\n

Sugarcane is cultivated on a large scale in many states of the country including UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka. About 5 crore farmer families are associated with sugarcane cultivation in the country.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat \u2013 Agriculture Department is expected to produce 170 lakh tonnes of sugarcane in 2.19 lakh hectares in 2021-22.
\nIn 2020-21, Gujarat had 170 lakh tonnes in 2.19 lakh hectares.<\/p>\n

Cotton
\nCotton production in the country is estimated to be 34.06 million bales (per 170 kg), which is 1.12 million bales higher than the average production of 32.95 million bales.<\/p>\n

In Gujarat \u2013 Agriculture Department is expected to produce 72.17 lakh tonnes of cotton in 22.70 lakh hectares in 2021-22.

Sun
\nThe country’s production of jute and mustard is estimated at 9.57 million bales (per 180 kg).<\/p>\n
