The 49th Dairy Industry Convention was organized by the Indian Dairy Association in Gandhinagar.<\/p>\n
2700 dairy industry associations of the country are participating in this three-day conference.
\n10 awards were given to outstanding persons in the field of dairy industry – animal husbandry and milk procurement.<\/p>\n
IDA has contributed a lot in the development that has taken place in the dairy sector. The dairy and animal husbandry sector contributes 4.5 per cent to the country’s GDP while the dairy sector contributes 24 per cent to the agricultural GDP. India alone has the highest contribution of dairy sector in the agriculture sector in the whole world.<\/p>\n
9 crore people in the country are associated with the dairy business. The dairy sector has grown at an annual growth rate of 6.6 per cent in the last decade. India is the largest processor of milk in the world. 22 percent of milk production in India is processed.<\/p>\n
Milk production has increased from 60 million liters per day to 580 million liters per day which is the progress of dairy sector. K
\nAmul’s turnover for 2020-21 is 53 thousand crore rupees. 36 lakh farmer families are associated with Amul. The share in India’s milk production has increased to 21 per cent with the contribution of brands including Amul, Motherdairy, Vijay, Parag, Nandini among others.<\/p>\n
Gujarat
\nThere are 4500 milk societies run by women in the state of Gujarat. Gujarat accounts for 30 percent of the country’s total milk procurement. 150 crore milk is produced daily.<\/p>\n

\nThe Indian Dairy Association (IDA) has resolved to organise Prof. M.R.Srinivasan Memorial Lecture and Oration Award during Dairy Industry Conferences (DICs). Prof. M.R.Srinivasan was an eminent person and was Head of Dairy Technology Division and Joint Director, NDRI, Karnal.
