17-year-old Mitwa Chaudhary of Sujnipur village of Patan has won a bronze medal at the national level in fencing sport. With this, Mitwa Chaudhary has confirmed her place in the Indian team of Fencing World Championship. Won a bronze medal in the 34th Senior National Fencing Championship held in Guwahati, Assam and made it to the Indian team for the Senior Asian and World Championships.<\/p>\n

Regarding this, Mitwa Chaudhary says, “I have been associated with sports since the age of 17. After watching the fencing championship in Gandhinagar, he got attracted towards this sport and started fencing (fencing) from the year 2018. Currently I am training for 6 hours a day at Vijay Bharat Sports Academy in Sanskardham near Sanand in Ahmedabad district. Earlier, he had won silver and bronze medals.<\/p>\n

The 34th Senior National Fencing was held in Guwahati, Assam from 28 to 31 January. In the league round, Mitwa won 6 out of 6 matches by defeating Khushi – Delhi, Tanvi – Assam, Purnima – West Bengal, Gitika – Uttar Pradesh and Deepshikha – Bihar by 5-0 and Nedeli – Karnataka by 5-2 and won 30 matches. In March 2022, 12 brothers and 12 sisters from Gujarat participated in the Fancy Senior National at Naguru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab. The 32nd Senior National Fencing Competition was organized by Punjab Fencing Association under the initiative of Fencing Association of India. There were a total of 31 members including 4 team officers and 3 technical officers.<\/p>\n

Foil team from Gujarat includes Amarsingh Thakor, Sachin Patni both Gadhinagar, Ajay Singh Chudasama – Ahmedabad, Mandeep Singh – Bhavnagar, EP team Siddraj Singh – Bhavnagar, Harshvardhan Singh – Ahmedabad, Jalap Prajapati, Karan Bhatt both Sabarkatha, Chandan Patni in saber team – Gadhinagar, Arjun Singh Jhala – Bhavnagar, Dharmaraj Singh Jadeja – Jamnagar and Dhruva Dynasty – Gir Somnath.<\/p>\n

In the women’s foil team, Khushi Sameja, Sheetal Chaudhary, both of Banaskhata, Nisha Chaudhary – Mehsana, Divya Jhala – Gir Somnath, in the EP team, Ritu Chaudhary, Parvatiben Thakor and Srishti Chaudhary, all three of Gadhinagar, Mitwa Chaudhary – Patan, Priyanka Kumari Solanki in the saber team. and Jinal Chaudhary \u2013 Banastha, Ritu Prajapati \u2013 Mehsana and Vandita Brar.<\/p>\n

Kijalben Thakor and Hardikji Thakor both Gadhinagar as coaches, Drishti Patel – Bharuch, Taraben Thakor – Gadhinagar as manager and Bharatji Thakor – Gadhinagar, Anil Kumar – Sabarkatha and Roshan Thapa as technical officer. The Senior State Fencing Championship was held in Nadiad in December 2021.<\/p>\n

Among foil brothers, Ajaysingh Chudasama won gold, Sachin Patni won silver, Amarsingh Thakor and Mandeepsingh Gohil won bronze medals. Among the EP brothers, Harshvardhan Singh won gold, Karan Bhatt won silver, Siddharajsingh and Yajnesh Patel won bronze medals. While among the Saber brothers, Arjun Singh Jhala got gold, Chandan Patni got silver, Shaniraj Singh and Dharamraj Singh got bronze medals.<\/p>\n

In the women’s category, Khushi Sameja won gold, Nisha Chaudhary won silver, Divya Jhala and Sheetal Chaudhary won bronze medals. Among EP sisters, Ritu Chaudhary won gold, Mitwa Chaudhary won silver, Parvati Thakor and Srishti Chaudhary won bronze medals. Among the Saber sisters, Ritu Prajapati won gold, Priyanka Solanki won silver, Vandita Brar and Bhagyashree won bronze medals. The winning players were honored with medals and certificates and selected to represent Gujarat for the next national level competition.
