2 lakh women from 6 cities of Gujarat got the facility of free travel during Raksha Bandhan festivals. If the government now allows similar free travel during the festivals of other religions, then 4 lakh women will be able to travel for free. However, along with this, there is a demand that the 50 percent discount on tickets to senior citizens in city buses and railways, which has been stopped by the Modi government, should be restarted.<\/p>\n
On Raksha Bandhan Day on 19 August 2024, Ahmedabad City Bus Rs. 12 lakh 21 thousand conductors earned. On Raksha Bandhan day, 3 lakh 4 thousand tourists traveled in Ahmedabad City Bus.<\/p>\n
1 lakh 2 thousand 191 women traveled by spending 30 thousand rupees.<\/p>\n
After running 7 double-decker electric buses in 2024-25, now it will run on 60 more routes. 4.30 lakh passengers travel in AMTS. Which is going to increase to 6 lakh.<\/p>\n
Surat<\/p>\n
On the day of Rakshabandhan in Surat, sisters and their children up to 15 years of age traveled free in Surat City Link Limited’s BRTS buses as well as city buses. The number of women who traveled for free has not been released.<\/p>\n
