This number increased to approximately 27 to 35 lakh monthly in 2024. In 2025, 44 lakh passengers traveled on the metro each month during July and September.<\/p>\n<p>A record 4.11 lakh passengers traveled on the metro over two days during the Coldplay concert. During events like IPL and international cricket matches and the Rath Yatra, the number of passengers recorded was between 1.6 and 2.1 lakh.<\/p>\n<p>The Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro network spans 68 km and has 53 stations. With the completion of Metro Phase-2, the 68 km metro network built by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) now covers 53 stations.<\/p>\n<p>1.5 million people travel daily.<br \/>\nAhmedabad, August 15, 2025: The Ahmedabad Metro carries 150,000 passengers daily. Since its inception, a total of 103.8 million passengers have traveled by metro as of October 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation trains operate on time 99.84 percent of the time.<\/p>\n<p>Work on the first phase of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail began in November 2014, and the first 5.5-kilometer section from Vastral Village to Apparel Park opened in March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, a 32-kilometer line connecting the north-south and east-west sections was commissioned.<\/p>\n<p>In the second phase, a 28.2-kilometer route connecting Gujarat&#8217;s capital, Gandhinagar, and the economic capital, Ahmedabad, was completed.<\/p>\n<p>The section from Motera to Sector 1 and GIFT City was commissioned in September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The section up to the Secretariat was opened in April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Now, with the opening of the route from Ahmedabad to Mahatma Mandir, a total of 68 kilometers of metro rail will be constructed.<\/p>\n<p>This includes 54 railway stations. Gujarat accounts for 6.8 percent of India&#8217;s metro network.<\/p>\n<p>Metro fares range from \u20b95 to \u20b940.<\/p>\n<p>The average fare per kilometer is \u20b91.<\/p>\n<p>For passenger safety, metro trains feature technologies such as a Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system, fire alarms, surveillance cameras, and tunnel ventilation.<\/p>\n<p>A 40.35-kilometer metro line is being constructed in the diamond city of Surat.<\/p>\n<p>In India<br \/>\nThe total length of metro rail in India is 1,000 kilometers. India has the third-largest metro network in the world, after China and the United States. In 2014, the metro network was 248 kilometers long. There are metros in 23 cities across 11 states.<\/p>\n<p>Delhi Metro Fares<br \/>\nDelhi Metro Rail Corporation fare rates on normal days in August 2025.<br \/>\nThe fare for the 0-2 kilometer slab is \u20b911.<br \/>\nThe fare for travel between 12-21 kilometers is \u20b943.<br \/>\nThe fare for travel between 21-32 kilometers is \u20b954.<br \/>\nThe maximum fare for travel over 32 kilometers is \u20b964.<\/p>\n<p>Mumbai<br \/>\nReliance Metro fares in Mumbai range from \u20b910 to \u20b940.
