The network of small and large power lines associated with these projects is expected to span a total length of 2,000 kilometers. On average, a power pole is being erected within every single farmland plot.

Projects:

63 MW — THDC Wind Project (Bhanvad Area)

115 MW — Torrent Power

54.6 MW — KP Energy (Siddhpur Site)

50 MW — Jauripur Green

72.45 MW — Suzlon

What Lies Ahead?

Under the Green Energy Corridor Scheme, the Jamnagar–Bet Dwarka belt and the wider Dwarka area are being developed as a major zone for wind and solar-wind hybrid energy projects. With the expansion of transmission capacity, the region is poised to attract further projects at the Gigawatt (GW) scale.

The Adani Group is launching a unique green power storage and distribution project in Bhat village, Dwarka. A dedicated transmission company (Transco) has been established specifically for this purpose.

This project spans an area of 500 bighas.

Adani has incorporated a specialized entity for this initiative: “Jam Khambhalia Transco Limited.” This project entails the construction of a 400 kV substation in Jam Khambhalia, Gujarat, along with approximately 40 circuit-kilometers of 400 kV Double-Circuit (D/C) transmission lines. The project is designed primarily to facilitate the transmission infrastructure for wind and solar energy generated within the Dwarka and Jamnagar districts of Gujarat. To provide connectivity to Renewable Energy (RE) projects (totaling 1500 MW) in Dwarka (Gujarat), the Jam Khambhaliya Pooling Station, along with a transmission system for interconnection and the M/s CGPL switchyard, has been established.

There are 16 companies engaged in electricity generation via windmills located in Dwarka. All these companies possess their own dedicated power lines that feed into the Adani facility. Since the coastal region of the Gulf of Kutch experiences strong winds, the electricity generated in this area is channeled to the Adani company. From there, Adani handles the distribution of the power. Companies such as Torrent, Opera, Samarth, and Suzlon operate thousands of windmills in the region; the electricity generated by these units flows into this facility. Power lines converge here from all three directions surrounding Jamnagar and Dwarka. From this central hub, the electricity is supplied to both government-owned and private utility companies. The facility also serves to store surplus electricity. During periods of peak demand, it releases this stored energy, thereby supplying power to both government and private entities.

A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) has been installed across a 500-bigha land parcel in Bhat village, situated near Jam Khambhaliya in the Dwarka district. This system collects electricity from various sources—including small-scale windmills, rooftop solar installations, micro-mini wind turbines, and other solar energy producers—and subsequently distributes and stores it. The power lines from these micro-grids terminate at this facility, from where the electricity is managed for both distribution and storage purposes.
