First to have Innovation and Learning Centre in the State
Charutar Arogya Mandal (CAM), Karamsad signed a MOU with the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) , State Health Society, Gujarat for providing technical support for implementing Ayushman Bharat Program in Dahod district .Chief Executive Officer ,CAM Sandeep Desai , Extension Program Head Dr. Shyamsundar Raithatha, Mission Director , Gujarat Dr . Gaurav Dahiya were present when the agreement was signed.
Earlier Mandal had been selected as an Innovation and Learning Centre(ILC) for providing technical support to the Government at national and state level to roll-out of the Ayushman Bharat Program- Comprehensive Health and Wellness Centre initiative. The national Government has selected only four institutions nationwide for providing technical support to the project . The other three institutions are AIIMS, New Delhi, Jan Swasthya Sahyog JSS, Bilaspur and Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI)-Telanagana.
According to Shri Sandeep Desai , NHSRC received several entries across the country . CAM is selected on the basis of work done under the .Shree Krishna Hospital’s Programme for Advancement of Rural and Social Health, (SPARSH) Program. SPARSH is an innovative program which is being implemented in 150 villages of Anand , Kheda and Panchmahal District for diagnosing and treating the Non Communicable Diseases in the community. SPARSH is designed to create systems and processes that enable the last person in each of the villages it operates in to access appropriate healthcare facilities.
Ayushman Bharat Program will be manage by National Health Protection Mission Agency at national level and States – UTs are advised to implement the scheme by a dedicated entity called State Health Agency. As project will be implemented at larger scale the government has initiated the initiation phase a technological feasibility and operational management of an application.
Emphasizing on the Memorandum of the Understanding signed between NHSRC, State Health Society , Gujarat and CAM Dr. Shyamsundar Raithatha said Our technical team will scrutinize the need of of up gradation of the sub centres , health need of the community and their issues and provide the technical assistance and guidance to the Government Functionaries. The project learning will be send to the concerned authority and experiences of the learning will be take into consideration while implementing the project on a larger scale at national and state level. Innovation and Learning Cente will work as a Public Health Lab and advice necessary suggestions to the government functionaries .
The world's largest funding Government Health Project Ayushman Bharat Program will provide comprehensive health care, including non-communicable diseases, communicable disease and maternal and child health services at primary level. Under this 1.5 lakh centres will be upgraded as a Health and Wellness Center (HWC) to provide Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Care(CPHC) to the population. These centres will also provide free essential drugs and diagnostic services. The Government has allocated Rs.1200 crore budget under this flagship.
