20 out of 24 members of Chalala Nagar Palika have moved a no-confidence motion against the chairman and vice-chairman. The chairman has not held a general meeting.
After convening only one budget meeting in the last seven months, not a single general meeting has been held till date. Because of this, members have been deprived of participation in development work and administrative decisions.
In Lunawada Municipal Corporation, 11 BJP members have filed a corruption complaint with the chief officer against president Kirti Patel over payment of Rs 40.69 lakh for swimming pool. In the procurement of street lights, large-scale corruption has also come to light. In which a light worth Rs 300 has been bought for Rs 2978.
Similarly, corruption has come to light in the procurement of tubelight and cable wires by the municipality in Upaleta of Rajkot district. Upaleta Municipality purchased tubelights worth Rs.20 lakh, out of which tubelights worth Rs.800 were purchased in 1900.
Most of the municipalities in Saurashtra are in a very bad condition, and the municipalities are finding it difficult to pay their electricity bills.
A total of 67 municipalities in Saurashtra Kutch owe Rs 395 crore and cannot completely disconnect their electricity connections, say power company officials. The treasury of the municipality is empty. It has become such a situation that municipalities are having to take money on interest even to pay their electricity bills.

There is factionalism in BJP due to corruption in Amreli. Complaints of large-scale corruption in different municipalities of Gujarat are now being exposed by BJP’s own so-called angel workers and leaders. Why is BJP silent when it is not silent? When will action be taken against this corruption?
The condition of different municipalities of Gujarat is very bad. They have completely failed to provide facilities to the citizens. Not BJP but BJP is drowned in corruption. BJP tyrants are acting as if they are only busy in filling their pockets.
Are the BJP rulers sitting just to loot the citizens? The Congress party demands that strict action should be taken against the corrupt people sitting in the municipality and the damage to the municipal treasury should be stopped immediately.
