Among all state corporations in India, the Gujarat State Railway Corporation uses the Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS) the most. With over 75,000 online ticket bookings per day, the Gujarat State Railway Corporation ranks first in India.
Over 40 million online tickets booked in the last two years
The online passenger reservation system was launched in the state in 2010. Over 40 million passengers booked tickets online in the last two years, generating a total revenue of over ₹1,036 crore for the State Railway Corporation.
Keeping passengers’ convenience in mind, the State Railway Corporation launched the online passenger reservation system in 2010. Subsequently, since 2011, through a master franchise agreement, passengers can also book State Railway bus tickets online through applications such as Abhibus and Paytm. The Corporation has also provided a dedicated booking option for differently-abled passengers in the web-mobile application to facilitate bookings.
In 2015, Android and iOS mobile applications (official GSRTC) were launched. Passengers can easily reschedule, cancel, and check PNR status of tickets booked through the mobile-web application www.gsrtc.in.
The corporation has 205 booking agents.
ST services have not reached remote villages properly.
