CM inaugurates ‘Handicrafts Exhibition’ on eve of Republic Day

As a part of the 71st Republic Day’s state level celebration function, inaugurated a ‘Handicraft Exhibition’ at Shashtri Maidan in Rajkot on the eve of Republic Day, today.
It should be noted that Gujarat is famous across India and world for its rich and
wide varieties in handicrafts such as Patola, Bandhani, embroidery, boutique, artistic weaving, leather works, wooden works, bamboo works, lacquer art, tangaliya, khadi, clay works, and others.
These handicrafts are giving glimpses and insights into various groups and their unique cultures. They also provide employments and earning opportunities to thousands of artisans. ‘The Handicraft Festival – 2020’ has been organized by Rajkot District Administration.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani reviewed the handicrafts articles displayed at the exhibition and praised the arts and artisans.
