A network of ivory smuggling gangs busted in Vadodara, two caught with ivory. A network of ivory smuggling has been busted in Vadodara, which has a very high price in the international market. The SOG has arrested two agents and questioned them. Cases of sale of wildlife organs are being reported continuously in Vadodara. Today the SOG has busted a conspiracy to sell ivory from the Yakutpura area.
After receiving information about ivory smuggling, the SOG kept a surveillance and arrested Irfan Sheikh and Azad Pathan, residents of Yakutpura, from a rickshaw. After finding a pair of ivory each from the two, the police seized the ivory and informed the forest department. Forest and SOG are continuing the investigation as to where the two agents brought the ivory from and for how long they were doing this business.
The PI of SOG said that we are investigating whether any international syndicate is active in this network. Apart from this, the criminal history of both of them is also being investigated. On the basis of technical sources, it is also being ascertained with whom they were connected.
