Surendranagar 2025
Jagdish Parmar, a BJP member from Ward No. 13 of the BJP-ruled Surendranagar Municipal Corporation, has threatened suicide. He alleges that a concrete road constructed in the ward at a cost of ₹85 lakh collapsed within a few days. The BJP member demanded that the contractor’s security deposit be confiscated and he be blacklisted.
After the Surendranagar Municipal Corporation completed 20 years in office, the municipal administration constructed concrete roads at a cost of over ₹85 lakh. However, within a few days of the construction, the roads began to crumble and develop potholes. Two days ago, Jagdish Parmar, a BJP member elected from the same ward, accused the municipal administration of constructing the road without lab testing and without using sufficient cement.
He demanded action against the contractor and that he be blacklisted. But despite this, the BJP member has given a written memorandum to the Municipal Corporation administration threatening self-immolation and has said that if action is not taken against the contractor, his bail will be confiscated and he will be blacklisted within the next 15 days, and has also threatened to commit suicide in the Collector’s office.
