22 lakh trees were cut in 4 years

After a long gap of 12 years since 2012, trees will be counted in Ahmedabad. Trees will be counted by GIS, GPS. Species, age, location, trunk girth, latitude and longitude will be shown for each tree. A unique number will be given at the time of tree counting. Isolation details of rare species of trees will be collected.
Rs 1 per tree. 8. The calculation cost will be paid to the company. Rs 7.89 will be spent per tree for the survey. It has been assigned to IT Resources Private Limited. An agency named SAAR will complete the census work in 6 months. If there are 10 lakh trees then Rs. 80 lakh will be spent and if as per the claim Rs. 25 lakh. Up to 2 crore will be spent. There is no special benefit after the calculation. The density and species of trees will be known. Apart from this there is no major benefit.
110 crores spent on trees in BJP rule
In the last 4 years, the cost of plantation has been Rs. 20 crores. Rs. 5 crores were spent per year. In 10 years, Rs. 40 crores and in 40 years of BJP rule, Rs. 110 crores are estimated to be spent on plantation.
Survey
In 2012, there were 6 lakh 18 thousand trees in the city. The green cover was 4.66 percent. Ahmedabad’s green cover area is about 12 percent. Bagh, Park Director Jignosh Patel. The total number of trees was declared by the state government in 2012. At that time, there were 6.18 lakh trees in the city, which was 4.66 percent of the total area of the city.
The forest department of the state government calculates the number of big trees in the city including public roads, footpaths, central verges, gardens, municipal-government properties and private societies etc.
22 lakh trees were cut in 4 years
A report was submitted to the Municipal Corporation by the Garden Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation 6 months ago. In which 55 lakh saplings were planted in 4 years. Out of which 22 lakh 15 thousand trees were cut.
Some time ago a random survey was announced by AMPA that in 4 years Rs. 55 lakh 38 thousand saplings were planted at a cost of 20 crores. Only 40 percent of the saplings have been burnt. In which 60 percent trees could grow.
It has been decided to increase the green cover from 12% to 15% by 2025.
It was planned to plant 21 lakh trees in 2022. Out of 55 lakh, 20 lakh saplings were planted on PPP basis.

2021-22 Details
There was a plan to grow 13 lakh 40 thousand saplings and increase the number of trees by 10 percent in 2021-22. Last year, 10.13 lakh trees were planted by AMC. In 2021, the green cover area of the city is reported to be 10.13 percent of its total area.
42 forest areas
There are more than 14 lakh trees here. There are 42 urban forest areas in the city. The size of their plot ranges from 3000 to 11,000 square meters. The help of NGOs is taken to increase the trees.
Miyawaki technique is used. In this method, native species are planted close to each other, in which sunlight comes from above and the tree spreads upwards instead of downwards. By adopting this method, plantation becomes 30 times more dense, 10 times faster.
Trees felled
According to the tree census of 2009, there were 65 lakh 12 thousand trees in Ahmedabad. 66 lakh 41 thousand in 2013. In 2017, it reduced to just 51 lakh 14 thousand.
In the state
In 2003, there were about 25 crore 10 lakh trees outside the forest area in the state, which has increased to 39 crore 75 lakh trees in 2021 according to the tree census. As of 2017, there are 22.38 trees per hectare in the state. Which shows an increase of 20 percent in the number of trees in the last ten years.
