As a responsible opposition party, we are also worried about the capitalists, friends of the BJP government, free hand to loot the government treasury and this whole Adani scam involving the Prime Minister, so we will not let the government run away from its responsibility. And today in the series ‘Hum Adani Ke Hain Koun’, we are standing with the country, holding press conferences in 23 big cities. Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Ahmedabad, Senior Spokesperson of All India Congress Committee and former Union Minister Shri Ajay Makenji said that though the Government has removed some parts of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s questions and Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge’s speech removed from commission. The proceedings of the Parliament are going on, but the people of India are watching what is happening in the Parliament. People want to know why the government is trying to lower the standard of parliamentary speeches and why the Prime Minister is not answering relevant questions in Parliament? Countrymen want to know how a dubious group having links with foreign shell companies operating from tax haven countries is monopolizing Indian properties and yet no action is being taken by government agencies or in facilitating all these dubious activities. Is adjacent to. People of India are very intelligent and they can understand the complete nexus between Modiji and his capitalists. They want to know why the Prime Minister helped a capitalist become the second richest man in the world and why is he silent on serious international revelations?
The Congress party is not against the man who has moved from 609th position to 2nd position in the list of world’s richest people. In particular, we are against the monopolization of our international goodwill and national resources by a private individual, who are suspected of fraud and corruption in tax haven countries.
The Congress party wants to know why the Modi government is afraid to form a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the issue despite having a substantial majority in both the Houses of Parliament. Before coming to power, Prime Minister Modi had promised to bring back black money in India and put Rs 15-20 lakh in every citizen’s bank account, but today’s bitter reality is exactly the opposite. Money deposited in Swiss banks by Indian individuals and companies reached a 14-year high of 3.83 billion Swiss francs (over Rs 30,500 crore) in 2021, according to the latest annual data from the Central Bank of Switzerland. Congress party wants to know who is the real owner of black money coming to India from foreign shell companies running from tax haven countries? What was SEBI doing when this fraud was happening?
1) Lakhs of investors who had invested in Adani Group shares whose prices were artificially inflated as a result of the fall in share prices after allegations of rigging in Adani Group’s shares surfaced. Between January 24 and February 15, 2023, the value of Adani Group’s shares fell by Rs 10,50,000 crore. On 19 July 2021, the Finance Ministry admitted in Parliament that the Adani Group was under investigation for violating SEBI regulations, yet Adani Group’s share price was allowed to soar.
2) The value of Adani Group shares bought by LIC for Rs 83,000 crore on 30 December 2022 has fallen to Rs 39,000 crore as on 15 February 2023, i.e. the value of savings of 30 crore LIC policy holders has decreased by Rs 44,000 crore .
