– Students in danger due to neglect of new construction
– In case of dilapidated classes, work will start after the proposal is approved at the higher level.
Anand: Four children were injured when the classroom floor collapsed at Sheikhupura school in Matar taluka of Kheda district and the education department was given written instructions to take action to demolish 1495 dilapidated rooms of the school besides 1200 in the district. ,

About 349 out of 1000 schools in Anand and 1495 out of 500 government schools in Kheda district have been found in a dilapidated condition. In this regard, after investigation in the responsible system, a proposal will be made at the higher level and the work will be done after getting approval from the higher office. On the other hand, it has come to light that the officials do not have the answer to the information like how many rooms were proposed to the government and how many dilapidated rooms are pending and how many rooms have been repaired and tenders have been filled for making new rooms. ,
No implementation despite instructions to demolish dilapidated rooms
As stated in the notification letter issued by the Primary Education Department of Anand and Kheda districts to all the headmasters, TPOs, BRCs of the district on April 29, 2023, the demolition of the dilapidated classrooms will be near Lok Sabha elections. The future, whereby classrooms are being used as polling stations. To avoid any untoward incident during the work and election process, it was asked to take immediate action to demolish the approved classes as per rules. Despite the start of the new academic year, there is anger among the parents due to non-implementation of the instruction letter sent from the district level.
Dilapidated rooms should be removed immediately
After a video went viral of students studying outside in the winter cold due to shortage of classrooms in primary schools of Umreth and Petlad talukas, Anand district education system swung into action and urged them to hold a meeting of the school’s SMC with immediate effect. Complaints about lack of monitoring of new room
Anand and Kheda District and Taluka Education Department will have to monitor whether the work of the new room sanctioned by the government has been done by the contractor as per the rules or not. But most of the officers are busy with other work and complaints are being received about showing tours only on paper.
