Surat’s Sachin GIDC has lost crores of rupees of revenue due to non-compliance of rules after allotting land for Laxmi Textile Park in GIDC.
Abhishek Builder was related to BJP leader Chandrakant Patil. Industrialist Gajera bought 6 lakh 29 thousand square meters of land from BJP State President Chandrakant Patil. The land of this project can be worth 1200 crore rupees and the said project can be worth 4 thousand crore rupees.
On August 17, 2000, Abhishek Estate Pvt. Ltd. has been allotted six lakh square meters of space. However, its possession was given to Abhishek Estate only on 2 May 2000. After this, on 14 August 2008, the land was handed over to Lakshmi Infa Developers Limited.
On December 21, 2009, the space was allotted by increasing 9.30 thousand square meters. Vasant Gajera of Lakshmi Inda Developers Ltd had started construction as well as plot allotment at the site without approval of rules.
This land was for residential purpose. But its commercial use was started by building a textile park on top of it.
The GIDC issued a notice to Lakshmi Developers, run by state-run industrialist Vasant Gajera, to pay over Rs 600 crore including 2 per cent of the total valuation of the land and other charges.
The system of Lakshmi Infra Developers has passed the maps five to six times. According to the rules of GIDC Corporation, the map has to be regularized by taking two per cent of any map passed.
If the market price of one thousand square meter plot is 6 crores, then 12 lakh fine will have to be paid.
Plot has been divided and allotted to many plot holders. In such a situation, GIDC has made a rule to pay five percent fine.
The plots were allotted by SUDA for commercial purposes. But due to good demand of industrial plots in the vicinity of Sachin GIDC, industrial plots were constructed without any deliberation. In which the change of purpose has to be approved.
The government has taken the place of purpose. The entire chapter is currently being processed by the Vigilance Commission.
Vasant Gajera of Lakshmi Infra announced that we do not have to pay any money, I am not worried about it, but if we get the notice, we will respond.

In September 2020, a crime of extortion has been registered at Adajan police station against a well-known businessman and builder of Surat city and trustee of Gajera Global School. A female teacher working in Gajera Global School was accused of molestation.
