Ahmedabad, 19 January 2020 :

With a view to give further boost to Gujarat’s frontal position in pharmaceutical sector in the country, the state government with the help of Centre would setup a ‘Medical Devices Park’ (MDP) at Rajkot and ‘Bulk Drugs Production Park’ (BDPP) at Ankleshwar, with total cost of Rs. 125-crore, Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani said today.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organized to setup GIDC and to make a draw for plot allotment to industrialists at Khirsara near Rajkot. He further stated that thanks to its own competence Rajkot has earned its frontal position in industrial sector.

Mr. Rupani said that the state government has made three vital decisions to promote MSME industries. These decisions included, 50 % subsidy in price of land allotment up to 3,000 meters for setting up MSME unit in various industrial estates in Gujarat.  At present, nearly 3600,000 MSME units are operational and generating maximum employment in the state.

Mr. Rupani also pointed out that for the MSME sector, the state government has replaced the old policy of first acquire permission before starting productions, with first commence productions and obtain permission later. The units can take the permission anytime within three years from the commencement of productions. Besides this, the state government has signed the MoU with the Bank of Baroda to sanction loan up to Rs. 5-crore within seven days for the MSME industrialists; and within 21 days if the loan amount is higher.

The Chief Minister further stated that Gujarat’s GDP growth rate is higher compared to the national GDP growth rate. Gujarat has attracted 40 % of foreign investment and contributing 21 % of total exports.

On the occasion, Mr. Rupani allotted 471 plots to industrialists through a computerized draw system in total transparency at the new Khirsara GIDC. He also distributed financial assistance, permission letters, capital subsidy and other benefits to industrialists eligible under various government schemes.

The event was also graced by Gujarat Food and Civil Supply Minister Mr. Jayeshbhai Radadiya as the special guest, Water Supply Minister Mr. Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, MLAs – Mr. Govindbhai Patel, Lakhabhai Sagathiya, and Mr. Arvindbhai Raiyani, Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Chairman Mr. Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, City BJP President Mr. Kamleshbhai Mirani, and others.[:]
