Now BJP officials are spending Rs. 17 crores for Flower Show 2025 in a wrong way. Entertainment Committee Chairman and BJP councilor Jayesh Trivedi is responsible for this expenditure. He was earlier honored as a talented person by Gandhinagar Shrimali Brahmin Samaj. But now he has proved to be dull for the people of Ahmedabad.
Jayesh M. Trivedi is the councilor of Sarkhej Ward No. 33. The chairman of Entertainment Cultural and Heritage Committee is Jayesh Trivedi and the vice-chairman is Sneha Kumari Parmar. 5 years ago, in 4 years till 2018, Rs. 8 crore 94 lakh was spent on the flower show. But the income was Rs. 2 crore 90 lakh. After charging high fees like open loot from the public, the revenue remained only 30 percent of the expenditure.
2025 to 2023
From 2015 to 2023, AMC spent around Rs 12.45 crore on the flower show. However, the revenue in comparison was around Rs 9.38 crore. Between 2015 and 2023, a total of 53 to 57 lakh people visited the flower show.
Income Expenditure
In 2013, the expenditure was Rs. 33 lakh.
In 2017, the income was Rs 60 lakh against the expenditure of Rs 1.70 crore.
In 2018, Rs 65 lakh against the expenditure of Rs 2.10 crore.
Rs 2.64 crore as against Rs 95 lakh in 2019.
Rs 2.25 crore as against Rs 1.66 crore in 2020.
The show is closed in 2021 due to corona.
In 2022, the fee is Rs 3 crore. 30 has been kept.
In 2023, the expenditure will be Rs. 5.45 crore.
In 2024, the expenditure will be Rs. 5.45 crore and revenue Rs. 5 crore.
In 2025, the expenditure will be Rs. 17 crore as against revenue Rs. 6 crore expected.
In 2022, more than one million visitors were expected to attend the show.
2023
Rs 5.45 crore was spent on the flower show. Tickets were Rs. 50 fee from Monday to Friday and Rs. 70 for Saturday-Sunday. There were no tickets for children up to 12 years.
2024
The Flower-Show 2024 was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest floral structure of 221 meters. Ahmedabad broke China’s record. 10 lakh people came and Rs. 5 crore was earned.
Cost of trees
Rs 30 crore was spent to plant 30 lakh saplings in Ahmedabad during the 100 days of the 2024 monsoon. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has spent Rs 35 crore in the name of planting 30 lakh saplings and trees from June 5 on the plots located on the Central Verge in the monsoon of 2024.
Only 50 percent of the 30 lakh saplings planted have survived.
