Ahmedabad: The visiting Central Review Team today praised Gujarat Government’s efforts made for curbing the spread of transmission of ‘COVID-19’ and spreading awareness among people on how to protect against it.
The Central Review Team is on state visit on a request of Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani for performance monitor-review and guidance to the state government.
The visiting four-member Central Team is consisting of NITI Aayog’s member Dr. Vinod K Paul, ICMR’s Director Dr. Balram Bhargav, Director of AIIMS Dr. Randeep Guleria, and Mrs. Bharati Ahuja, Additional Secretary, Union Health Ministry.
The team had held a high-level all-round review meeting with Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, and senior secretaries of the state in Gandhinagar.
The Team categorically stated that the initiatives taken by the state government, in particular, the utilization of the ‘Aarogya Setu App’ in reaching to the remotest rural area to decide ‘Containment Zones’, providing health services to people at their doorstep through ‘Dhanwantari Rath’, and setting up ‘Community COVID Care Centre’, would be an example for the other states of the country.
During its two-day visit, the Team had visited and reviewed the containment areas and COVID-Hospitals in Ahmedabad and Surat.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister had also apprised the Team about that the dedicated COVID hospitals have been setup in each district of the state for curbing the spread of transmission of “Corona”. Mr. Rupani also expressed a confidence that the state government will win the battle against the Corona by forming a strategy based on the suggestions-guidance provided by the Central Team.
The Team also pointed out that as the industries in Gujarat are getting reopen, the state government should also adopt Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the health wellness, screening, training for developing good habits, medical check-up etc for the labourers returning to Gujarat from other states for employments and earning livelihood. The implementation of this suggestion can also make Gujarat a role-model in this field too, the Team added.
To give understanding on ‘Treatment Protocol’ to the physicians of public and private hospitals of Gujarat, a video conference has been arranged by Dr. Guleria on Saturday (today).
The meeting was also attended to Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Mr. K. Kailashnathan – Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Principal Secretary Mr. M. K. Das, Mr. Pankaj Kumar – Chief Coordinating Officer of State for matters including treatment of Covid-19 and Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Dr. Jayanti Ravi – Principal Secretary (Health), and Mr. Ashwini Kumar – Secretary to Chief Minister.
