Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani
launched ‘Inter State Bus Services’ of the Gujarat State Road and Transport
Corporation (GSRTC) in Ahmedabad, today. On the occasion, he also handed
over appointment letters to 1954 newly inducted male and female bus-
conductors.
The Chief Minister also announced that the passengers will get 4 to 6%
discounts on e-tickets purchased either through official website or mobile
booking application. The 6 % discounts will be given on the premium buses,
AC, and Volvo; and 4 % discounts on Gurjar Nagari Express or Simple Sleeper
buses. He termed this as a step towards fulfilling the dream of ‘Digital India’
envisaged by Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi.
Inspiring the new recruits in his address, Mr. Rupani categorically stated that
the ST services are directly connected with the common-man, so their
(Conductors) good behaviors with the people will take the prestige and credit
of the ST to a new height. The transparency and honesty in the services of the
state government has created merit based employment opportunities for over
100,000 youths.
He also further stated that the premium inter-state bus services started with
30 buses included places like Varanasi, Goa, Nathdwara, Haridwar,
Uttarakhand, Haryana and others.
