Decision would benefit over 65,000 teachers of Gujarat –
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Gujarat Education Minister

Ahmedabad: Giving an affirmative and thin-skinned response to the
representations made by Gujarat State Primary Teachers Association (GSPTA) and
Gujarat Education Federation (GEF) on the issue of ‘Higher Pay Scale’, Chief
Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani has decided to postpone the implementation of
the letter dated June 25, 2019 of the state government.

The decision would approximately benefit to more than 65,000 teachers of the
state.

Giving more information on the issue, Gujarat Education Minister Mr.
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the letter which had sent a sentiment of
disappointment among the teachers and their unions has now been completely
removed with this decision.

In the presence of Minister of State for Education Mrs. Vibhavariben Dave, Mr.
Chudasama said that about the representations made by the GSPTA and GEF in
reference to letter, in last 15-days several deliberations were made at the levels of
the education department and education ministers; and for making a final
decision at Chief Ministerial level.

The officials of the GSPTA and GEF had personally met the Chief Minister and
thanked him for taking this pleasant decision.

The education minister also thanked the GSPTA and GEF for keeping patience and
trust on the state government on the issue.
