Continuous increase in road accidents in Gujarat

Road accidents are continuously increasing in Gujarat. In the first 7 months of 2024, 93 thousand people were injured in road accidents. Every hour 18 people are injured in road accidents in Gujarat. Ahmedabad recorded the highest number of 15 thousand 489 cases of road accident injuries. On an average, 3 people were injured every hour in Ahmedabad.

After Ahmedabad, Surat has the highest number of road accident injuries with 9587 and Vadodara with 6307. A total of 92194 cases of road accident injuries were reported in Gujarat in the first seven months of last year. There has been a slight increase in road accident injuries. Last year, 15147 incidents of road accident injuries were recorded in Ahmedabad.

According to the information received from the emergency service ‘108’, 11 thousand 678 incidents of road accident injuries were reported in Gujarat in the month of July. A minor incident occurred in July. The highest number of road accident injuries, 13 thousand 926, occurred in the month of May.
