BJP claims to be patriotic but it has no devotion towards Gujarat, Narendra Modi’s pretense is exposed

Dilip Patel

Ahmedabad, 24 April 2025
Pakistani terrorists disguised as pirates entered Indian waters of Arabian Sea near Gujarat on 26 November 2008. Owner of Kuber boat number PBR 2342 of Porbandar was fishing in the sea from Vinubhai Masani’s boat. Porbandar’s ‘Kuber Boat’ was hijacked. Its six sailors were killed. Gujarat government did not give any title or honor to the 6 martyrs of Gujarat. At that time BJP’s Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Modi did not care about giving compensation till he became the Prime Minister in 2024 and even after that. Babulal Sosa, owner of Kuber, told this correspondent on 24 April 2025 that we have fought in the court and received compensation. Despite the promise, the government does not want to fulfill the promise.

The families of the martyrs had to fight for 13 years with the BJP government of Gujarat to get their death certificates and compensation. The BJP government has become inhuman. In which compensation was not given during the tenure of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Anandiben Patel and Vijay Rupani.

Despite the Supreme Court’s order to give compensation, the Rupani government did not give compensation to the three sailors till 2020. Their writ petition was filed by advocate Anand Yagnik.

The families of all these fishermen had to fight a legal battle to get them declared dead till 2017. Only after this the government declared them dead on the orders of the court. But the patriotic government of BJP did not give compensation.

Anand Yagnik
Famous lawyer Anand Yagnik has given compensation to the martyred sailors of Gujarat. Even after 12 years, three sailors from Gujarat have not yet received compensation. The main gunner was 1 and the rest were 4 sailors. In which the terrorists killed 4 sailors and threw them into the sea near Porbandar. Whose bodies were not found. Kasab’s 200-page confession states that Kuber killed the boat’s sailors and threw them away. Kasab was hanged in 2012, but the BJP government of Gujarat did not give compensation to the martyred sailors.

The sailors had to go to the Gujarat High Court. Despite the order to give compensation, no compensation was given. Finally, after a strict court decision, they were given compensation.

BJP’s fake patriotism

They attacked Mumbai and killed 6 sailors from Gujarat. The captain of the boat was asked to take the boat towards Mumbai amidst machine gun firing. As soon as the coast of Mumbai came into view, the rear part of the boat was cut and the body was kept in the cold storage of the boat. Tandel Amarchand was kept alive to reach the Taj Hotel. Even after 11 years, the family has not been given a death certificate. The Gujarat government has denied assistance to the families of 4 out of 6 sailors from Gujarat till date because they have not received the certificates. Aid was provided to Diu, but the cash-strapped Gujarat governments of Narendra Modi and Rupani of the BJP, considered nationalist, have not given any compensation till date. Tandel Amarchand, a sailor from Jholavadi village in Diu, was also killed by terrorists. Wife Raniben has not received her husband’s death certificate from the government.

Names of the sailors
The family, living in Machhiwad village in Navsari, currently lives in poor houses. The families of these sailors are currently forced to live in terrible conditions. The body of the boat captain and Valsad resident Amarsingh Solanki was found on the Mumbai beach. While the other sailors of the boat were Ramesh Solanki of Junagadh, Wasi and Natwar alias Natu Nanu Rathod, Mukesh Rathod and Balwant Tandel of Machhiwad village. Earlier Kasab had also confessed that he had killed all the fishermen on the Kuber boat.

Demand of boat owner

The Union Territory of Diu provided assistance to the family of Amarshibhai who died in the Kuber boat accident. His son was also given a job in the police. Still, the Gujarat government has denied assistance to the families of the 4 deceased sailors of Gujarat. Boat owner Hiralal Masani demanded that assistance be provided to their families. Masani provided assistance of Rs 5 lakh. Each sailor will be given Rs 2 lakh.

60-hour operation

Nine terrorists including Kasab left the boat on the beach. 26/11 Mumbai attacks were carried out. The attack lasted for 60 hours. 166 people were killed and more than 300 were injured. The dead included 28 foreign nationals. This attack shook the entire country. This led to a war like situation between India and Pakistan.

Kasab was caught alive and hanged.

Mumbai’s Hotel Taj, Oberoi and many restaurants were targeted. This operation was carried out till 11 pm on 11 November and 8 out of 9 terrorists were killed. Kasab was caught alive. He gave full details of the terrorist attack.

Help in Mumbai
The central government provided assistance to the families of the deceased. Help was also provided to about 600 injured people. After the Mumbai incident, the state government announced financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to the family of each deceased and the Maharashtra government announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family of each deceased.

Death certificate not provided
Forget about compensation, the families of the deceased had to struggle and wait for eight years to even get a death certificate

. Deceased Balwant’s wife Damyanti has spent thousands of rupees to get compensation. But till 2020 the BJP government has not achieved anything. According to the rules, if a person remains missing for seven years, he is considered dead, but the Gujarat government issued death certificates to the families of the three deceased fishermen in February 2017 after a court order. Sailor Amarchand, who lived in Jholawadi village of Diu, was also killed by terrorists.

The template was removed. Wife Raniben has not received her husband’s death certificate from the government.

School dropout.

The condition of the family of Jashiben, who lost her husband in this unfortunate incident, is becoming miserable. Her two minor daughters have to leave their studies and work under the MNREGA scheme.

35 crore reward

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced a reward for any information about the terrorists involved in the 26/11 attacks. Pompeo said, ‘A reward of $5 million (Rs 35 crore) will be given for the capture of Hafiz Saeed, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who were involved in the conspiracy of 26/11 attacks.’

Order to pay compensation

On October 24, 2019, an order was issued to pay Rs five lakh to the heirs of the deceased fisherman of Kuber boat. The Gujarat High Court had passed an interim order to pay Rs 10 lakh. The widow of a fisherman of Simasi village in Una taluka was provided a compensation of Rs 5 lakh within 48 hours from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The widow of one of the four fishermen, tired of repeatedly submitting memorandums to the government, approached the High Court and the High Court gave the above interim order.

Balubhai Sosa

Balubhai Sosa of the Samudra Shramik Suraksha Sangh of Kodinar came to support the widow of Ramesh Nagji Bamnia of Simasi village in Una taluka. Ramesh’s heirs wrote letters to the government for eight years for compensation. At that time the government provided only Rs 1000 as assistance. Rs 50 was given as assistance. Jashiben did not lose courage and with the help of Samudra Shramik Sangh, High Court advocate Anand Yagnik filed a petition in the High Court in 2016. Anand Yagnik showed sympathy and got justice without charging fees.

The central government had made a policy to give compensation to the families of those killed in terrorist attacks. The Gujarat state government has implemented this policy in the state. Rs. 5 lakh has been deposited in the name of Jashiben as a fixed deposit. Which pays quarterly interest. The families of all these fishermen had to fight a legal battle to get them declared dead till 2017. Only after this the government declared them dead on the orders of the court.

Gujarat’s borders are unsafe
The following details till February 2019 are shocking. Tension has arisen between India and Pakistan. The situation on the Gujarat coast can get worse at any time. The jurisdiction of the marine police is up to 12 nautical miles in the sea.

When the Mumbai bomb blasts took place on 26 November 2008, the terrorists reached Mumbai from the Gujarat coast by boat from Gujarat. Terrorists including Kasab had infiltrated from the sea near Kutch.

After that, the Gujarat government raised a battalion of RRP Group No. 19 Marine Commandos on the Gujarat water border in 2008. In which 1100 soldiers were trained in 2009-19. Its headquarters was established in Jamnagar and special training was provided. No one will know what these commandos are doing at this time.

The commandos were given to the SRP group and hence the headquarters was vacated in 2016.

After the ‘surgical strike’, the police was alerted on 1 October 2016. 220 SRP commandos were sent to the border. This means that the Marine Commando Force was disbanded. The marine wing of the Border Security Force, BSF, Army and Marine Commandos are on duty. Governments have become careless.

Many times the marine police does not have petrol or diesel to patrol the sea. Patrolling is done with the funds provided by the Central Government. In 2016, 25 out of 30 boats were grounded due to lack of fuel. The situation is not good in 2025.

Marine Police Outpost

In 2008-09, marine police outposts were established in Khambhat, Vadgam, Ralej and Dhuvaran in Anand district. They did not have modern weapons and equipment. The outpost at Khambhat comes in the middle of the sea during high tide. The condition of the post outpost at Ralej had also become similar. The police outpost at Dhuvaran was almost closed. Someone had broken the windows. There was no electricity connection either. The doors were rotten. The window glass was broken. The road was also blocked due to dense bushes around the outposts. There are binoculars but no boats.

Pipavav check post closed

The Victor police post located at Pipavav Marine Police Station on the Bhavnagar-Veraval highway was in a dilapidated condition for some time. The marine police station was established ten years ago. Since there is a checkpoint here, illegal activities are often caught. The post is currently closed.

What is the situation in Kutch in 2018?

The 4 marine police stations in Kutch district, Kandla, Mundra, Mandvi and Jakhau had only 117 personnel out of 200. Out of the total coastline of 416 km of Kutch, 238 km of coastline is connected to Pakistan.

The marine police is there to prevent any terrorist from entering from the coast. The Mandvi Marine Police Headquarters does not have boats for patrolling. You have to hire a boat and patrol the sea. Mundra Marine Police operates one of the two boats

, is located in Mathak. Due to high consumption of diesel, the government is not providing diesel. This is the situation of the Marine Police Chief of Jakhau.

There is no patrolling for many days. There is a shortage of staff. 4 police stations do not have the latest and modern equipment, leave alone staff. The police is working on records.

There is no police security on the 70 km long coastline from Jakhau to Koteshwar. There was no vigilance among the Marine Police Chiefs after the alert was issued after the Jammu and Kashmir attack. The situation is such that the way to Kutch is open for terrorists. Encroachment has increased in the Kutch Creek area since 2014. People from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir have been caught here. The number of abandoned boats has increased.

There was also a camel with the marines between the four police stations, which also died. Patrol on camel

They are singing. Mandvi is a coastal area. They did not have a camel, which they should have had.

The marine police also have to do tasks like confiscating liquor. If there is any theft, you will have to pay for that too. Thus, law and order work also has to be done. Therefore, the police is not able to pay attention to the border. The importance of Kutch increases from the security point of view because it is the international border connecting with the enemy country Pakistan. The desert border is patrolled by the BSF. While the marine border is patrolled by the marine police and the coast guard.

Kandla has 1 interceptor boat for marine patrolling. Mundra and Jakhau Marine have 2 speed boats. Kandla Marine Police Station has 4 marine commandos as against the requirement of 8 marine commandos. Mandvi did not have any boat. The marine police registers fishermen and gives them permission to go to sea.

In-charge of Kutch Commandos

The central government first deployed 20 marine commandos in the coastal areas of Jakhau, Mohadi, Pingleshwar and Sindhodi.

Valsad Marine Police is unsafe
When the 17 km long Valsad district’s maritime security was attacked by terrorists in October 2016, the Marine Police of Valsad district was unable to patrol the sea. There were no weapons or speedboats.

Phones are down
In January 2019, the landline phone of Una New Port Marine Police Station was down for a long time.

Jamnagar
Gujarat has the longest coastline of 100 km in Jamnagar district. Where on 27 February 2019, there are 3 high-speed buoys. There are 37 police officers in 3 shifts. 22 km. You have to go deep into the sea. Patrol 9 islands. Security of Somnath and Dwarka Jagat Mandir in Saurashtra and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar has also been increased.

Modi’s promises
On 7 October 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the opening of the country’s first Marine Police Research Institute in Dwarka. But how can new research be done when the police do not have the equipment?

Veraval Somnath
20 Marine Commandos have been deployed to protect the 70-mile-long coastline of the Somnath temple located in Gir-Somnath district. Of these, 10 commandos have been given to Somnath Marine Police Station and 10 commandos to Navbandar Marine Police Station.

Naval ships in Porbandar
On 20 January 2019, it was announced that a medium-range naval squadron would be deployed off the coast of Porbandar. So that naval aircraft can keep a 24-hour surveillance on the coastal area. The naval aircraft were to keep a 24-hour surveillance on the 1,600-km-long coastline of Gujarat.

The Dornier will provide targeting data to the Indian Navy in various operations to destroy terrorism on the coast.

Dwarka
The Dwarka beach is like a gateway for terrorists. Patrolling has been increased on the uninhabited island. (Google translation from Gujarati)
