Disa Municipality is ruled by BJP. Disastrous mornings and political polarization change daily. Because here the faction of Shankar Chaudhary and Amit Shah are face to face.
In the BJP-ruled Disa Municipality, the vice-president and the presidents of 16 committees have resigned in rebellion demanding the removal of the president. Seeing the leaders reaching the BJP office with 17 resignations, a huge crowd gathered in the party.
On September 12, 2023, Sangeeta Prakash Dave was elected president, Shailesh Raigor as vice-president. Clearly the protest is against the Nagar Palika president, who has resigned for running the administration arbitrarily. Internal factionalism has now come to the surface. The woman president never coordinated with the members
Disa Palika BJP party leader Vasu Mohammad protested and said that the president does not listen to anyone. Not coordinated. There are no medicines in the municipality. The administration has gone into the abyss.
There are two factions in Disa BJP. One faction is of the former BJP MLA and one faction is of the MLA.
MLA Praveen Mali wants to make Neeta Nikesh Thakkar or Bharti Bharat Patel the president. But no one listens to Expert Mali. So sources are telling that Praveen Mali has staged a coup to strengthen his hold in the party.
President Sangeeta herself is from the Shashikant Pandya faction. Praveen Mali wants to oust her. He does not have the majority to pass the no-confidence motion. Therefore, the strategy of resignation has been adopted.
Shashikant Pandya himself is from the Shah faction. Mali belongs to the Shankar group. There is a scramble to get a ticket in the assembly. Praveen Mali is Shankar Chaudhary’s man. He is working at the behest of Shankar Chaudhary. There are many complaints against him. He is the son of former BJP MLA Gordhan Mali.
The party has reprimanded BJP President Delvadia for not being able to handle the situation. Because he has accepted the resignation and made a public statement through journalists. Thus now the DISA issue has become a state level issue.
Shashikant is now strong.
Goa Rabari
BJP has imported Goa Rabari from Congress. There are many reasons for that.
The turnover of DISA APMC is 1500 crores. After Unjha, it is the next important farm market. It is occupied by Mavji Desai and Goa Rabari.
Banaskantha in-charge in BJP organization and former Panchayat Minister Jayanti Kavadia, Praveen Mali and Shashikant Pandya together inducted Goa Rabari into BJP. The reason is Rs. 1500 crore business. 10 years ago its turnover was Rs 10 crore. 900 crore. In 10 years the turnover doubled. 10 lakh quintals of farmers’ goods come here.
15 directors rebelled against Goa Rabari, former MLA and Kehitiwadi Pradhan Market Committee President Disa joined BJP. He also boycotted the general meeting and protested against Goa Rabari. Board meeting is not available. Goa Rabari is accused of corruption. A cold storage case of Rs. 5 crore is also going on against him. It is believed that he has joined BJP to avoid further allegations.
The name of independent MLA Mavji Desai, who rebelled against BJP and was elected from Dhanera, is Vevai Goa Rabari. After being elected as an independent, Desai has announced to support BJP. After the election of Dhanera Khet Pradhan Market Committee, he wanted to become the president, but could not. Therefore, Goa Rabari changed sides and went to BJP and became the president. The members do not support him. This is also a rebellion against the decision of BJP leaders.
The commercial headquarters is Disa. Banaskantha Disa has the highest production of potatoes in the whole of Gujarat, so it is known as Batata Nagari. There are 150 cold storages.
Shashikant is now handling Goa Rabari. 15 out of 16 members are against Gobhai. The chairman is sitting alone. A non-quorum meeting is held. In which no decision is taken.
In 2018, when the BJP announced the name of Gordhan Kachhawa instead of the name of the municipal member for the post of director, some members of the BJP itself protested. MLAs and senior members tried to convince them but the members kept protesting.
Election rebellion
The Thakor community in Disa’s Rahi Cold Storage has rebelled against the BJP and announced a candidate in 2022. Disa taluka BJP former president Labji Thakor and district Bakshi Morcha former president and Disa taluka panchayat member Bharatji Dhunk filed their papers as independent candidates.
Former Disa taluka BJP president and who had earlier contested as a BJP candidate in Disa, Labji Thakor revealed that Disa taluk was ignored despite having the largest number of Thakor voters. The same was said by district BJP Bakshi Morcha former president Bharatji Dhunkor.
With 2022 approaching, the Thakor community came out against the BJP and in 2024 Rekha Choudhary who was fielded by Shankar Choudhary lost and Gayani Thakor was elected.
Threatened
In 2022, BJP MLA from Disa Shashikant Pandya said- ‘If anyone files a case against BJP, then I will not tolerate any violence.
If anyone raises his eyes against the government or BJP workers, his eyes will be taken out.’
Rebellion in 2020
There was a rebellion in BJP in February 2020 as well and 13 members resigned.
Municipality
BJP president and megastar were angry with Shilpa Mali’s administration for 1 year.
Former BJP president Sanjay Brahmbhatt failed to resolve the matter.
The in-charge and state BJP made several presentations before the general secretary. But the party did not pay any attention.
For the first time, there was a public fight between the members and the MLA in the general assembly. Vice President Kantilal Soni also resigned. However, with the intervention of the MLA, the vice president withdrew his resignation.
It was alleged that other people were running the administration in place of the president and the administration was in a bad state.
There has been an internal strife in Disa Municipality since the assembly elections. Shankar Chaudhary had objected to him being an MLA from Amit Shah’s faction. Therefore, differences have been increasing here since the last election. Shankar Chaudhary was already opposing Shashikant. The reason for the fight between the two is Amit Shah. Amit Shah does not want Shankar Chaudhary.
Praveen Mali and Maganlal Mali were Shankar Chaudhary’s men. Praveen Mali used to misbehave like Shankar Chaudhary did. The land dispute came to the fore during the inauguration of the garden.

BJP has suspended 12 workers of Disa on charges of anti-party activities.
2018
Committees were not formed in Disa Municipality in 2018 due to internal differences in BJP. There was a lot of uproar in BJP over the formation of committees in the general assembly. When a unilateral decision was taken in the formation of committees, many members refused to accept the chairmanship of the committee given to them. While one member has threatened to resign from the membership of the municipality if the chairman of the committee is not given.
The meeting started in the presence of the then MLA of Disa Shashikant Pandya, in the beginning the Municipality President Shilpaben Mal was present. The president announced the names of the leaders given by the BJP for the formation of committees, while allocating important committees and posts to the big heads of the municipality, three women members elected from BJP, Maniben Parmar, Pallaviben Joshi and Manjulaben Rawal rejected the committee given to them as they did not find any suitable committee. At the same time, Jeetu Rana, a BJP member in his second term, also resigned from the post of non-committee member and threatened to rebel against the party.
CD scandal in Disa
While selecting the party candidate for the 2019 Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat, the party itself has been caught in the obscene CD scandal of its leaders. K. Farm house owner and business worth Rs 2 thousand crores. The CD has been removed so that he can blackmail himself at the right time for the ticket. It is believed that many leaders of this party used to come to this farm house and all of them had stairs.
Demanding for sex
A complaint has been filed against Gaya Goliya village’s deputy sarpanch and young BJP minister Mahesh Mali. He demanded sex from a girl working as a supervisor in the college.
Crowd
Vasant Bhatol, who was a BJP MLA from Danta assembly constituency of Banaskantha in 2009, has resigned from the BJP.
BJP corruption in Disa
BJP members complained of large-scale corruption in a general meeting in the BJP-ruled Disa taluka panchayat. Despite several reports of corruption in the roads built in the villages, no action was taken by the BJP officials of the taluka panchayat. The meeting turned heated as panchayat officials and contractors were accused of colluding in corruption. The opposition Congress was a silent spectacle of BJP members playing the role of opposition in the meeting.

In 2016, villagers had leveled serious allegations of corruption in the sewerage line constructed at a cost of lakhs of rupees in Theravada of Disa taluk.
Deputy Collector and Election Officer-in-Charge of Disa V.K. Upadhyay was recently caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh.
In 2022, miscreants attacked and seriously injured a journalist outside the court in Disa. Political people were behind them.
Congress
15 Congress members resigned over the announcement of the candidate in Banaskantha for the 2022 assembly elections. Sanjay Rabari, son of former MLA Goa Rabari, has been given the ticket.
Former President of the Aam Aadmi Party Pina Ghadiya, former President of Disa Municipality Vipul Shah, former President of Disa Municipality Kailash Shah, former District Panchayat member Papat Delvadia submitted their resignations.

Bahujan
Bahujan Samaj Party Banaskantha District President Advocate Prakash Solanki has resigned from his post. He was working as the Banaskantha District President of BSP for the last six years.
Jignesh Mevani
