Designed & manufactured by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala and equipped with a load cell to indicate pay load and GPS tracker, this high capacity parcel van of Railways can run at a speed of 130 kmph. The LHB parcel van will generate revenue for Indian Railways through parcel transportation business.

Caring and Sensitive Railways: Train reversed to rescue fallen passenger in Maharashtra
A Devlali-Bhusawal passenger train was reversed for about 500m in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district to rescue a passenger who had fallen off. The incident took place between Pardhande and Maheji railway stations near Jalgaon, about 425 Km from Mumbai when a quick decision by train guard R B Pardhe and loco pilot A K Pandey saved the passenger’s life.

As part of its conservation agenda, Western Railways has started using treated effluent water from its new plant at the coaching depot in Bandra Terminus for non-potable purposes such as cleaning toilets, platform lines and coaches. The move will result in decrease in the use of freshwater that WR buys from municipal authorities.
