BJP office-bearers appointed very late

Attempts to resolve internal conflicts may further escalate the disputes

Modi’s policy is that defectors will get power and money, but not positions in the party

Ahmedabad, December 28, 2015
On December 27, 2015, the Gujarat BJP announced the office-bearers of the state organization and the presidents of various fronts. The appointments of the office-bearers came three months after the state president was appointed. A considerable amount of time has been spent trying to resolve internal conflicts within the BJP. There is a strong possibility that internal conflicts within the party will increase after the new structure is in place.

Not a single leader brought in through defections has been given a position among the office-bearers. The BJP wins elections by bringing in leaders from other parties, makes them partners in government power, gives them contracts and lucrative assignments, but they are never considered BJP office-bearers. This has been Modi’s policy, and it is reflected here as well.

Following orders from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, State President Jagdish Vishwakarma made the appointments and the announcement. BJP National President J.P. Nadda and Acting National President Nitin Nabin took this decision. The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and State President were called to Delhi to meet with these leaders. The announcement was then made in a simple manner, according to Hindu tradition.

Ten vice-presidents have been appointed. Four state general secretaries and ten state ministers have been appointed. In addition, new appointments have also been made for the state treasurer, state chief spokesperson, state media in-charge, and state front presidents. 10 Vice Presidents
