Ahmedabad, June 29, 2019: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today laid the foundation
stone of a world-class APMC yard at costing Rs.39 crore at Brahmanwad locality of
Unjha known for world famous Umiyadham in North Gujarat. They also visited the Umiyadham temple.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the government alloted land worth Rs.69 cr for
the project at nominal cost of Rs. 4.76 crore. He reiterated his government's

commitment to provide minimum support price, cold storage, market yard, value
addition facilities, modern farm technology and irrigation facilities through

Sujalam Sufalam and Sauni to the farmers.

The market yard will have shops cum godowns, cold storages, processing plants,
offices, dining hall with road, water, electricity, drainsge, auction sheds, gates,
compound walls. Unjha market trading mainly in spices worth Rs.4,500 crore is
the Asia's biggest yard, with online connections to watch global prices real time fluctuations.

Mr. Rupani said that Government bought farm produces worth Rs.8,000 crore at
MSP from farmers this year, and disbursed Rs.2,700 cr as crop insurance. The
government has set aside a revolving fund of Rs. 500 crore for advancing loans to

farmers at zero percent interest.

Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
set a target of doubling the farmers' income by 2022. He said that market yards

are important link between farm and the global market.

Cooperative Minister Ishwasinh Patel said that the Cooperative Department has

begun action plan to double farmers; income.

on the occasion included MP Shardaben Patel, MLAs Ramanbhai Patel, Ashaben
