Ahmedabad, September 21, 2025 – To encourage farmers to adopt modern farming, the Gujarat State Government has announced a total assistance of over Rs 2,780 crore for the purchase of tractors and other agricultural machinery over the past decade. These schemes have been implemented under the directives of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and the guidance of Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel.
🟢 Massive Assistance for Tractors
In the last ten years, Rs 1,542 crore has been provided to 3.24 lakh farmers for the purchase of tractors.
Financial assistance of Rs 800 crore will be provided to 80,000 farmers for 2025-26, double the amount from the previous year.
As per Government of India guidelines:
On tractors up to 40 PTO horsepower, an additional tax of 25% of the total cost or Rs 250 will be levied. 45,000 (whichever is lower)
Tractors with 40-60 PTO horsepower will receive 25% of the total cost or ₹60,000 (whichever is lower).
From 2025-26, the assistance will be up to 25% of the total cost of the tractor or ₹100,000.
🟢 Assistance for Other Agricultural Machinery
More than 3.79 lakh farmers received assistance worth ₹1,238 crore for machinery such as combine harvesters, power tillers, rotavators, ploughs, threshers, and self-propelled threshers.
So far, a total of over 1,92,700 farmers have received pre-approval for tractors and various machinery.

So far, 76,000 farmers have received pre-approval for tractors.
More than 116,700 farmers have been granted pre-approval for the purchase of agricultural equipment.
This program provided equal opportunities and financial assistance to farmers in the state for the purchase of machinery.
