Former collector Pradeep Sharma arrested in Anjad land case, on remand for two days
The government had caused huge loss by allotting illegal land.

RDC was registered against former Kutch Collector Pradeep Sharma and the then Resident Deputy Collector in the case of illegal allotment of Anjar land and causing serious loss to the government. After the arrest of Ajitsingh Jhala, late Tuesday evening, LCB arrested Pradeep Sharma and presented him in the court and demanded ten days’ remand, the court approved two days’ remand.
Anjar mamlatdar Rahul Kumar Ranabhai Khambra lodged a complaint with Bhuj A division police against former collector Pradeep Sharma and then resident deputy collector Ajitsingh Mehpatsingh Jhala in connection with illegal land allotment. Accusing officials of misusing their power, Anjar resident Rasilaben Kantilal Jethwa applied for approval of 14 guntas of government land next to the house owned by her. In which the accused officers committed a crime by ordering illegal land allotment ignoring the government rules and caused a serious loss of Rs 3.54 crore to the government. As soon as the crime was registered, LCB arrested the then Resident Deputy Collector Ajit Singh Jhala and took him on remand in the court till Thursday. Late in the evening, former collector Pradeep Sharma, who was serving a sentence in Palara jail in the case of Chudwa and Bhuj land of Gandhidham, was arrested by LCB from Palara jail. On Wednesday evening, Pradeep Sharma was presented in the court and a demand was made to obtain his remand for ten days. Where the court approved the remand of Pradeep Sharma till Friday.
