The entire office of the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment was razed to the ground.
In the national capital, Delhi, the central government’s position is becoming very fragile. Twenty-five employees of the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment have been infected with corona this week, bringing the number of infected people in the ministry to 36.
Corona infections have also been confirmed in the families of many employees. 11 people had previously been infected. Six of the infected workers are from the personal staff of Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar. The remaining employees were investigated after two employees at the ministry became infected last week.
The Shram Shakti Bhavan is being considered for closure once again. Infected people have been told to stay separate at home. Shram Shakti Bhavan was closed on June 4 and 5. But the energy ministry called its employees on June 5 for some work.
On June 8 it was decided not to open the building. However, some officials of the Ministry of Labor came to the office on June 8. The entire building has since been opened to officers. The 11 officials previously infected in the Ministry of Labor and Employment include the Joint Secretary, Steno, the Chief Private Secretary, the Private Secretary, six multi-task assistants and a driver.
The two-day shutdown was part of a standard operating procedure to combat the Covid-19 epidemic. If two or more employees are infected with Covid-19, the entire building of any ministry or department is sealed for hygiene.
