4 Cheated people by using Hirasar airport to win elections
Let alone sending vegetables around the world by plane, a human being cannot go anywhere
The condition of the new airport is worse than the old one

Ahmedabad, 12 July 2024
In 2016, Narendra Modi had talked about giving an international airport to Rajkot to win the elections. The international airport cannot be built for the next two years. Thus, Modi has fooled the people who made him the Prime Minister for 10 years, keeping them hanging in the air. Not only lawbreakers deceive people, politicians also deceive people by making promises to get votes.
The first proposal was sent to the government on 19 November 2016. On 2 March 2017, the government’s verbal approval was received and on 28 March 2017, the Rajkot Collector handed over the non-forest land.
Rajkot International Airport is a Greenfield Airport located along National Highway 8B (NH-8B) at Hirasar near Chotila. Flight operations were started by shifting all flight operations to this airport.
Listen to what Modi said

In September-2023, Modi won the votes of Saurashtra by inaugurating it with great fanfare, but there is no clue as to when international flights will be available.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that now foreign air travel will be possible from Rajkot Greenfield International Airport. There will be great benefit in business. The development of the entire region has got a new energy, a new flying power. Direct flights are available from Rajkot to many cities of the world.
When I said that Rajkot will become a mini Japan, people made fun of me. Today those words have come true. Fruits and vegetables of Saurashtra farmers will be sent abroad.
Thus, none of these things said by Modi are true. He won votes by making the people of Saurashtra his leader in 4 elections. Even though the 2027 elections will go ahead, international flights will not fly from Rajkot.
In 2017, it was announced to give Saurashtra an international airport to win the assembly elections. Based on the report, BJP was making it an issue to win 4 elections. The international airport will not be built even by the time the 2027 Gujarat assembly elections are over.
Protests took place today.
What was wrong with the old airport in the city?
The people of Saurashtra have become uncles. What has been built is just air. Now it is like the name is bade darshan khote hai. The BJP government has made a mockery of the people of Saurashtra. The doors have been opened only for real estate investors associated with the BJP.
The main terminal building falls short in providing facilities at an international airport.
Time and again
BJP leaders have once again deceived the public by announcing that the terminal work at the airport will be completed by March-2024. Terminal work could not be completed even in July-2024 It is being told that the new terminal building of the airport will be ready by 15 August 2024. But permission has not been received yet. It is not yet decided when it will be completed.
Hiraser Airport Director Digant Bora said that there is a proposal for an international terminal, but approval has not been received.
Defects
1 – There is only one runway for operating ‘C’ category aircraft.
2 – Provides service at domestic country airports. Only domestic flights fly.
3 – Service to international destinations was expected to start by the end of 2023. But this could not happen in July 2024.
4- People have been cheated by building a temporary structure at the International Airport.
5 – Terminal not built for international airport. It is not possible to operate international flights.
6 – No international immigration or customs office.
7 – No airline office and passenger facilities.
8- To go abroad, one has to go to Ahmedabad or Mumbai instead of Rajkot.
9- The temporary terminal actually stands on 23,000 square feet of land to handle cargo movement.
10- There is also a shortage of water in the toilets.
11- Extortion in parking fees.
12 – Taxi fare is around Rs 2000.
13 – The check-in counter closes 75 minutes before the flight instead of 45 minutes.
14- There were 14 flights at the old airport, no new flights started.
15 – The canopy above the passenger pick-up-drop area collapsed.
16 – 61 posts were to be recruited at Rajkot airport.
17- There is dirt on the runway, animals and birds come.
Passengers
The number of passengers at Rajkot airport has doubled in 5 years. 80,000 passengers per month. Despite the doubling of the number of passengers, the number of flights has not been increased accordingly. The ceramic industry of Morbi and the industrialists of Jamnagar benefited. This was an important project for Gujarat. It was to be the biggest airport of Gujarat.
The canopy collapsed
A part of the canopy of the international airport collapsed due to the high velocity of water. Airport director Digant Bora did not answer the question that how much the construction company spent on the construction of the canopy and why the construction was delayed. The airport was built with their money and the public has not been told about the salaries and facilities of the airport officials. BJP leaders like grand buildings costing billions and their pomp and splendor. But, after demolishing the buildings, we do not get to see their public management.
