Cancer cases are increasing alarmingly. If we talk about Gujarat only, then in the last five years, 28768 women have died due to uterine-breast cancer. This includes 20,317 deaths from breast cancer and 8,451 deaths from uterine cancer. In such a situation, on an average 16 women die of breast-cervical cancer every day in Gujarat.
According to the notification issued by the Health Department, cases of breast cancer among women are increasing continuously in Gujarat. In Gujarat, 3355 women died of breast cancer in 2014, 3450 in 2015, 3547 in 2016, 3647 in 2017. Thus, there has been a 30 percent increase in deaths due to breast cancer in 2023 as compared to 2014. Among the states with the highest number of breast cancer deaths in 2023, Uttar Pradesh tops the list with 11,451, Maharashtra second with 7,265, West Bengal third with 6,472, and Gujarat ninth.
Across the country, 78387 women died of breast cancer in 2021, 80390 in 2022 and 82429 in 2023. In terms of deaths due to uterine cancer in the year 2023, Tamil Nadu tops the list with 3755, Maharashtra second with 3171, Uttar Pradesh third with 4763 and Gujarat ninth.

Cyberctic cancer cases in Gujarat were 1393 in 2014, 1434 in 2015, 1474 in 2016, 1515 in 2017 and 1557 in 2018. This situation has led to a 30 percent increase in uterine cancer cases in 2023 as compared to 2014. A total of 1.04 lakh women have died in 3 years due to uterine cancer cases in 2021, 34806 in 2022 and 35691 in 2023.
