30 public enterprises in Gujarat incurred a loss of 2500 crores, close such businesses!

The 2023 report of CAG presented in the Legislative Assembly has been presented. CAG has criticized the financial condition of the boards-corporations and government companies of the Gujarat government. Due to losses, 30 public enterprises have not given financial assistance to the government. So close it.

63 is a public enterprise or company. Only 10 public enterprises had a share of 94.38 percent in the profit of Rs 9927.30 crore. 30 companies or corporations have suffered a loss of Rs 2456.98 crore. In which 6 public enterprises have suffered a loss of Rs 2276.72 crore.

When Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister, there were 42 public companies. Now it has increased to 101 public sector undertakings. It is believed that about 150 such companies are government-owned, which have been formed by cities or merged with other companies. In which the accounts of the expenses incurred are not kept properly. CAG cannot confirm this.

In which at the end of the financial year 2023, a total of Rs. 1.25 crore has been invested in equity capital and long-term debt against an investment of 1.86 lakh crore. Out of which the number of outstanding long-term debt of 42 undertakings was Rs 24,115 crore.

The government has 101 public sector units. There are four statutory corporations, 65 government companies and 32 companies. 69 units did not submit financial statements. Therefore 188 accounts are pending. The state government should review the performance of loss-making public sector undertakings. The government should review the inactive companies and decide whether to revive them or close them.

The total investment in Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam is Rs 70 thousand crore as on 31 March 2023 against a loss of Rs 7,898 crore. Similarly, GSPC NNG Limited has a cumulative loss of Rs 599 crore and the capital investment is shown as Rs 537 crore. Loans worth Rs 833 crore have not been recovered. The principal has not been returned in the last 14 years. No interest has been paid.

Important details of public enterprises

• Out of 15 inactive public enterprises in the state, five are in liquidation.

•Bisag Satellite Communication has been liquidated in the financial year 2022-23.

• Investment in non-performing enterprises is Rs 498.57 crore.

• 69 enterprises have not submitted outstanding financial statements.

• The total turnover of 58 public enterprises is Rs 1.94 lakh crore. • Public Sector Undertakings in the power sector contributed the highest share of 75.91 percent in the business.

• The government has given long term loan of Rs 16500.47 crore to 32 units.

• The total liabilities of 64 public sector undertakings are Rs 3.97 lakh crore.
