Anand : After 50 years, people have reduced their consumption of millet to a minimum. Therefore, the animal does not have its plants as dry or green fodder. In 50 years of millet 5 times the area under cultivation has dropped. The human population and the animal population have increased four times. Then millet is now departing as a human and animal diet. At that time, agricultural scientists in Gujarat have developed a new variety of millet – Gujarat Anand millet 4 GABF 4 – that can only be used as animal feed.
Now, as the millet cultivation is declining, is retiring from animal nutrition. Then a species of Bajra has been developed by the agricultural scientists of Gujarat which is best adapted to the green and dry fodder of the cattle. GABF 4 – It’s nutritious.
Gujarat Anand millet 4 – GABF 4 has been discovered, giving a 33 per cent higher yield for the dry pasture of cattle. This variety is prepared by the research scientist at the main fodder research center of Anand Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya for the area of planting fodder millet in the kharif season. allgujaratnews.in@gmail.com
Green fodder
Hector produces 580.8 quintals of green fodder. Which gives 17.8 percent more output than local control quality. National indigenous giant produces 13.2 percent higher production than Bajra.
Dry fodder
Dry fodder yield yields 120,3 quintals. Which gives 20.4 percent more output than local control quality DFB1. Nationally controlled varieties produce 13.9 percent more product than Giant Bajra.
Protein
The production of crude protein in this variety is 9.66 quintals per hectare. Which offers 31.3% higher quality than GFB1 and 33.4% higher than Giant Bajra.
The dry matter has 20.9%, crude protein 7.7%, neutral detergent fiber 80.5%, crude fiber 30.80% and acid detergent fiber 42.3%.
The number of feet on a plant is 240.1 centimeters high. The number of leaves is 29.5 per plant. The ratio of leaves to leaves is 0.9. Which is greater than the control varieties. Which is a thin trunk and light-colored leaves. allgujaratnews.in@gmail.com
The glorious past
In 1970, the whole area of Gujarat was planted in 21 lakh hectares. At that time, the bazaar was used for the main meal. Grain production was 18 million metric tons and hectare yielded 800 kg of millet. Ten years ago, in 2010, 6.73 lakh hectares of 8.28 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was produced on an average of 1231 kg. Whose branches were used as cattle fodder.
