Bharti Airtel Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai spectrum sells to Jio for Rs 1497 crore

Reliance Jio has tied up with Bharti Airtel to buy some spectrum in the 800 MHz band in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai circles. The deal is worth about Rs 1,497 crore. According to the statement, Reliance Jio will be able to provide better services to its customers in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai by using additional spectrum in the 800 MHz band.

According to Reliance Jio, the deal is worth around Rs 1,497 crore. According to the statement, Reliance Jio will have a total of 7.5 MHz of additional spectrum available in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai circles. Reliance Jio will be able to provide better services to its customers in the 800 MHz band using 3.75 MHz in Andhra Pradesh, 1.25 MHz in Delhi and 2.50 MHz in Mumbai. Reliance Jio will have a total of 7.5 MHz additional spectrum available in these three circles.

According to Jio, the addition of new spectrum will further improve Reliance Jio’s infrastructure and network capacity. After the agreement for spectrum usage, Reliance Jio will have 2X15 MHz spectrum in 800 MHz band in Mumbai circle and 2X10 MHz spectrum in 800 MHz band in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi circle.

The number of subscribers of Jio in the country is close to 400 crores. At the same time, Airtel had around 370 million subscribers. The total number of mobile phone subscribers in the country is 96 crore.
