Congress’s Gujarat Yatra has empowered the public, silencing the BJP govt

Ahmedabad, December 17, 2025

The 60-day Congress Jan Aakrosh Yatra is traversing the state of Gujarat in five phases. During the Yatra, the public is allowed to express their grievances on stage. The Congress Gujarat Yatra has empowered the emboldened public to speak out. It has silenced the BJP government. They have broken free from the atmosphere of intimidation and threats posed by the BJP government and are now speaking openly. The public’s fear has vanished, and they are venting their anger against the government in meetings and on social media. That is why they are connecting with the Congress’s social media presence.

The second phase of the Congress’s 17-day Jan Aakrosh Yatra, aimed at protesting the corruption and anti-people decisions of the BJP’s Bhupendra Patel government, will conclude in Dahod from December 20, 2025, to January 6, 2025. The Yatra will highlight instances of corruption, mismanagement, discrimination, and injustice perpetrated during the BJP’s 30-year rule.

State President Amit Chavda stated that the Aakrosh Yatra is not an election campaign, but a fight for people’s rights. The government collects taxes but does not listen to the voices of the people. He urged people to join the march, calling for the Jan Aakrosh Yatra to be the voice of the people. During the march, several issues will be raised, including corruption in MNREGA and tap water, farmers’ issues, livestock farmers’ issues, unemployment, water, forest and land issues, drinking water issues, agricultural irrigation issues, and trade issues.

The 1,300-kilometer Jan Aakrosh Yatra was welcomed in seven districts of North Gujarat.

During the march, Congress will raise issues such as waiving farmers’ entire debt, canceling incorrect land measurement, addressing fertilizer and seed shortages, completely eliminating the liquor and drug trade, and providing employment to youth through regular recruitment.

There is immense public anger against the lack of government recruitment and the exploitation of youth through fixed salaries, contracts, and outsourcing.

The Yatra will cover seven districts in Central Gujarat: Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, and Dahod, three municipal corporations, approximately 55 talukas, and 37 municipal areas. The Yatra will cover approximately 1,400 km, highlighting issues facing the people of Central Gujarat and corruption.

People will raise issues facing the tribal community, the Amul milk producers, corruption within municipal corporations and municipalities, the annual flooding problem in Vadodara city, and local issues in several areas, including Karamsad.

State President Amit Chavda stated that the Gujarat Congress Yatra reached millions of people through 40 public meetings, 150 welcome points by local organizations and people, and a 1,300 km wait across seven districts in North Gujarat. In the nine years of the BJP government, 72,467 crimes against women have been registered. This is a matter of great concern for Gujarat. The state is witnessing kidnappings, rapes, domestic violence, dowry deaths and harassment, acid attacks on women, human trafficking of women, and cybercrimes against women. On average, 8,000 crimes against women are registered every year in Gujarat. An average of 670 women become victims every month. The number of crimes against women is increasing.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Dr. Tushar Chaudhary, said that people are emerging from an atmosphere of fear and panic. The state’s roads, broken bridges, and accidents, along with complaints of widespread corruption in the road and housing departments in several areas, including Morbi, Palanpur, and Anand, are also facing criticism from the government and officials. The voices of BJP MLAs are not being heard.
