Gujarat’s contribution to wind and solar power produced in the country has increased to 13%

Gujarat accounts for 13% of the total renewable energy production of the country. Renewable energy contributes 37 percent to the state’s total of 30 GW, or 11 GW of production. The country’s renewable energy capacity is 89230 MW. Against this, Gujarat has contributed 11264 MW capacity. The renewable energy sector will be able to achieve a capacity of 65 GW by 2030.

It has also emerged as a major area for employment generation. Solar Rooftop Scheme for Clean Energy 1.70 lakh residential households in the state of Green Clean Energy are consuming solar energy. In the Residential Roofing Scheme, a subsidy of Rs 190 crore has been provided to 65 thousand beneficiaries.
The establishment of Asia’s largest solar park began in 2010 in Charanka. Now a 5,000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Park is being built in Dholera Special Investment Region.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is silent on how much solar power farmers get in the state.
About 100 companies have demonstrated their technology at the virtual summit, with more than 25,000 participants, including policy makers, industry, scientists and investors from various countries and regions.
