The state government has given legal approval to all schools in Gujarat to grow vegetables due to own school farm. After 17 years of the secretariat’s education department know a school farm. The project of growing vegetables for school children by constructing a farm in Vadodara, the department has announced that if a government primary school can growing vegetables. The school, which provides pure and organic food for lunch, has been growing vegetables for the last 17 years. The dropout rate was very high. The children belong to SC and ST communities, the poorest are farm laborers or other types of working families.

Farming by clearing the land
Teacher Narendra Chauhan decided to grow organic vegetables on half an acre of land around the school. The useless plant were removed and the ground levelled. The villagers drove the plow with their tractors at the beginning of the monsoon. They also give seeds. The school’s bore well has been revived with the help of Naveenbhai. Adjacent to the school wall is a medicinal garden.
The Eco Club Kitchen Garden Project was launched. The children also started liking it. He gets pure and satvic food. Dropout rate dropped. School teachers, village farmers and school children do the items. The eco club has sweet neem, alovera, amla, lemon, suavan, kadam, mint, Ajmo, eucalyptus, guava, jasmine, vermilion and almond trees.
14 types of vegetables
14 types of vegetables such as tomato, brinjal, cauliflower, cabbage, radish, carrot, chilli, milk, spinach, fenugreek and coriander are grown. Seasonal vegetables are also grown. In their spare time, children also water the plants in the garden. Gives additional vegetables in Anganwadi.
8 thousand kg of vegetables
Cultivates 8 thousand kg in 17 years in vegetable garden. On an average 50 tithi meals are given each year. The villagers are celebrating birthdays, wedding dates, and relatives’ birthdays with their children in school. Inversely, milk or carrot pudding, spinach bowl, spinach cheese are made.
