Industrial units will soon get ‘Electricity Duty Waive’ certificate within 24-hours 

Gujarat government has decided to ease, speedup and transparent the waiving of the electricity duty for the newly setting up industrial units or the qualifying additional units of the existing industrial units for five years from the date of production.
The qualified industrial units will soon get certificate of waiving of electricity duty within 24-hour time through an online application. The state government has given permission to the concerned draft rule. Terming it as another achievement for the Gujarat in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ sector, c m Mr. vijay Rupani said that this would benefit to approximately 3,000 qualified industrial units this year.
Once the draft rule is finalised, the industrial units would receive certificate for waiving of electricity by making an online application. As a pilot project, initially this would be implemented for two months in Ahmedabad district, later it would be extended to other areas of the state.
If any industrial unit get availed the benefits of this through submission of fake information than after reviewing it would be shunned with immediate effect and availed benefits would be recovered with 18% interest.
