The president of Sardar Samman Sankalp Andolan Samiti is Mithilesh Amin and the district president is Maharshi Patel.
People of all parties and castes came together and demanded that the government reconsider and give Karamsad the status of Mahanagarpalika or Taluka. Karamsad Bandh was announced and the bandh happened.

The villagers started a movement in the village by joining the slogan of freedom of Karamsad.
Possibilities were expressed that Sardar Patel’s existence in Karamsad would be destroyed if Anand Nagar Palika is declared.
An appeal was made for freedom from Sardar Patel’s village Karamsad.
It was decided to run a signature campaign. He warned that in future this movement would be extended to the state level.
The shutdown was successful
Sardar Patel’s Patuk village Karamsad remained closed. Earlier, a demand was made to give special status to Karamsad. To maintain the identity of Sardar Patel’s Karmabhoomi, a demand was made to make Karamsad Mahanagar Palika instead of a separate taluk or Anand.
People voluntarily joined the shutdown. The shutdown was announced by Sardar Samman Sankalp Andolan Samiti and village leaders..B.Sc. and B.Ed. colleges affiliated to Sardar Patel University also remained closed. Apart from this, educational institutions including 7 semi-government schools and 8 private schools remained closed.
Seven groups appealed to make the shutdown call successful.
Karamasad has a distinct identity as the village of Sardar Patel who united 565 princely states of the country. Sardar Patel’s identity as a village may be erased.
BJP’s failure
The government has failed to build a civil hospital in Anand district and the BJP leaders of the district are not able to understand what development they want to do by merging Karamsad into the Municipal Corporation.
BJP officials and leaders of Anand district refused to make any statement regarding the Karamsad bandh.
Desai Vaga area of Nadiad city is the birthplace of Sardar Patel. Many things related to him are preserved as his memory. Sardar Patel used to swing on this horse in Mosal. People of Sardar Patel’s Mosal have settled abroad. His maternal uncle’s son’s son lives abroad. Sardar Patel was born here. His childhood was spent here. He used to play on the streets here. He grew up playing and studying here. Today Sardar Patel’s house is the house of historical memories and the history of his life.
Karamasad was not given special status. When will Karamsad village get special status? The villagers of Karamsad demand that Karamsad village be given special status. In this regard, promises were also made by the state government and the central government. They did nothing and also went on a hunger strike. At that time, BJP state president Jitubhai Vaghani gave support to the people who were on hunger strike and assured them of giving special status to Karamsad. Nothing happened.
