The roses had to be imported from Gujarat. After the revolution of agriculture, Gujarat has become a state of export of roses. The cultivation of rose flower crops of Gujarat is such that every district is cultivated in the taluka. It is cultivated in 4178 hectares. But now farmers are turning to cashless cashmere roses. Kashmiri roses are cultivated with success in many areas. The great advantage of this is that the laborers who refuse to pick roses do not do the Kashmiri roses because they do not bother the laborers because they do not have thorns. Also, the roses remain fresh in the market not for 24 hours but for 3 days.
In Devada village of Vijapur taluka in Mehsana district, 87 farmers are leaving Kashmiri roses after leaving the traditional cultivation of Gujarat-Palanpuri roses. In which income is better. It is being cultivated in about 180 bighas. A farmer gets Rs.2.50 lakh a year. Retail roses on the market sell for Rs 100 to Rs 500 per kg. Farmers get Rs.10 to 50. Big profits are not earned despite the hard work of the farmers.
Roses are adapting to Gujarat
In 10 years, 806 hectares of acreage has increased which is a 24% increase. Against this, production of 14923 metric tonnes was increased by 62%. Productivity has increased. In 2005-06, demand for 2034 hectares rose to 13285 metric tons.
Dense color everyone likes
Kashmiri roses are more in demand than desi roses. The color of the cashmere roses is solid pink. It can be sold in another state as it is not wasted for three days. Roses can be stripped not at night but by day. Its wings do not break fast. As the cashmere roses are more durable, the demand is increasing in the market compared to the country.

Desi roses are often picked at night which are essential to market in the morning. Their petals are purchased quickly. Cashmere roses are like balls and have a three to four day durability. It grows in a bunch. Its aroma is less than desi, but the dark night color makes it even more attractive.

In this way, Kashmiri roses have started cultivating in many villages including Kodia, Bil, Ranapur, Kothia, Deoroli and Narmada banks along the Kodia, Vadodara, Karniya taluka. Shipped to cities in Saurashtra, Surat and Mumbai.
