Nine times price hike in nine days, Rs 5 per liter increase in petrol and Rs 4.87 per liter in diesel

Petrol and diesel prices continue to rise. Petrol and diesel prices have risen for the ninth day in a row. Oil companies on Monday hiked petrol prices by 48 paise and diesel by 59 paise.

Prices have been rising steadily for the past nine days. On Sunday, petrol was hiked by 62 paise and diesel by 64 paise. Similarly, on Saturday, it rose by 59 paise and 58 paise, respectively.

With the increase, people in the capital Delhi will now have to pay Rs 76.26 per liter for petrol and Rs 74.62 per liter for diesel.

In Mumbai, petrol is now priced at Rs 83.17 per liter and diesel at Rs 73.21 per liter. In Chennai, people will have to pay Rs 79.96 for a liter of petrol and Rs 72.69 for diesel. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 78.10 and diesel at Rs 70.33. Oil prices have been rising steadily since June 7.
